Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 4, 2005 Author Posted December 4, 2005 ok folks, I've gotten quite a few pm's regarding Charlie MOore so I thought I would give an update. I was contacted 3 weeks after submitting written challenge by Charlies ppeps and they told me they liked the idea and forwarded it to ESPN. I replied and told them that I also had the video portion of the challenge ready and needed to know if tha gets sent to them or espn? 3 weeks later again and still no reply from either. :-/ Quote
Phishn_Phool Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 OK Charlie....Let's give those C.A.S.T kids "Moore" for Christmas....Step up and we will call you ?Santa Moore" Get off your reindeer and make these kid"s holidays a little brighter. Char-ley Char-ley San-ta CPR ;D Quote

squid Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Man, I thought we would have had an answer by now...Glad to see that they like the idea though. Squid Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 I couldn't help but send another email after hearing Charlie spew all morning about "all you gotta do is go the web site and challenge me,...don't be posting junk on the internet about how you can whoop me, just go challenge me if you think you've got it"....oh man..... this is the email I politely sent. Hi, I submitted a challenge on behalf of the CAST for kids foundation and BassResource.com and I recieved a reply stating that it had been forwarded to ESPN and to let you know if we don't hear from them soon. That was Nov 13 or 14th and we havn't heard anything yet. We have a video form of the challenge ready but need to know where to send it. We could also host it online to view if you'd like. We have almost 4000 members that have been following this anxiously on the BassResource.com forum boards. I have recently spoken with Clay Dyer whom ESPN did a special on and he is also willing to participate at what ever level he is capable, schedule permitting. Looking forward to your reply, Russ Thetonia Don't get me wrong, if we don't fit the shows format or whatever, that's fine, but a little follow up would be really appreciated. I mean even a simple "no thanks", but for all I know, they (ESPN) doesn't even know we exist. Quote
basser89 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I watched it too LBH and your challenge was the first thought that came to mind. The other day for chuckles I went over on bassmasters boards and apparently Charlie posts there. Someone asked him about your challenge but he never responded. You are right though, one way or another, they should let you know if you've been accepted or rejected! Quote

What about B.R. members flooding ESPN with demands for a reply, maybe then they will realize wer'e here and not going away. Quote
KYbass1276 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Lbh I will donate a little money to your cast kids project regardless if charlie excepts the challenge or not and maybe if all the members sent a email to espn it might help. really if you think about it it is the charity that is the ultimate goal here Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted January 7, 2006 Super User Posted January 7, 2006 LBH- One other method to use regarding the challenge. I would suggest sending a letter on Bass Resource letter head (Glenn do we have any?), with a C.A.S.T. pamphlet explaining further the intentions of your challenge and what our group is about. Maybe include copies of your E-mail challenge and letters, as they may have been accidently deleted. Send the letter registered mail to Charlie, ESPN, and Clay Dyer, that way you know which someone got the information. Charlie is a celebrity, and as such a lot of demands are placed on his time. If you really want this thing to fly, you have to show him it is worthy of his time (we already know it would be). In my opinion, a certain amount of class not crass, will go along way in see your challenge happen. Good luck on this, and your pending victory over that guy from Boston - JB Oh and LBH- what the heck is a quahog? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 7, 2006 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 7, 2006 Agreed. Patience, young Jedi. This is more than a one-on-one challenge, which takes considerably more coordination - especially if he's thinking about inviting pros. Their schedules are set 1-2 years in advance. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 A quahog is a hard-shelled clam. otherwise known as clams, topneck, chowder hogs, or beans. These are the clams used for clams casino or clam chowder, a staple in New England. Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted January 8, 2006 Super User Posted January 8, 2006 Thanks for the clarification LBH, as I wasn't sure if that was a local name for oysters (which are pretty d**n good raw, on a half-shelf with alittle cocktail sauce). Here on the Pacific side, they are also known as clams, horsenecks, cockles, and razor. Nothing like talkin' seafood. Good luck against Chuck. JB Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 8, 2006 Super User Posted January 8, 2006 Super, Russ. I hope Charlie takes you up on you challenge. Even if he takes you on one on one it would be great. Good luck and Happy New Year! Quote
fishingrulz Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 remember as Glenn said. patience young grasshopper. Quote
Guest avid Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 Patience my . Charlie Moore is ducking us. He read the forum and knows we are the best. He just doesn't want to look like a girlie man on TV ;D ;D ;D Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 (cough) eyup (cough) lol Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 10, 2006 Author Posted February 10, 2006 OK, we first challenged these folks on Oct 30th. After 2 re-submissions, I still havn't heard a single word from ESPN. Not a "no thanks", not a "we are considering..." NOTHING This is a. just plain rude b. bad business c. EXTREMELY annoying when every week this guy calls people out. Well, we replied to his call,......repeatedly,.....now what? I give up Quote
squid Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Maybe they are going to pull it off the air. Just a thought there. Squid Quote
squid Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 LBH....lol....that was mean man :...really mean ;D But I understand 8-)...lol....too funny :-X Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 I think you would have the best episode on his show. I dont watch it much but having kids involved is a great idea. Quote
