Super User Long Mike Posted January 11, 2007 Super User Posted January 11, 2007 For those of you regulars who normally skip the "Important Topics" section and go right to the meat of the postings, I would strongly reccomend that you read the posting from Glenn about why this site is free. Tonight I re-read the post. I suggest all members do so frequently if you want to help support this site. Glenn, from this point on, I will order nothing from any of your sponsors, especially BPS, without logging in via one of your banners. I realize that I may pay a few pennies or dollors more, then I consider it money well spent if it helps to keep such a great site up and running. Mike Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Ahh, I see one of my topics were atually read. LOL. That is why I asked about affiliates. I would rather donate to the forum then just go to BPS.com to place the same order. Atleast by clicking the icon on the website BR benifits from it. By going to bps.com br doesnt gain anything. I wonder if Glenn plans on adding any other affiliates like Cabelas, another site and several others? Quote
Supermat Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Thanks a lot Long Mike! > You inspired me... that got expensive! ;D Quote
Super User senile1 Posted January 11, 2007 Super User Posted January 11, 2007 I've read this a few times since joining the site and I keep forgetting to ask this question: Glenn, do you only receive money when purchases are made through the banners, and/or do you also receive some advertising dollars for the number of hits generated by the banners, or a certain dollar amount per thousand hits? Quote
ga_hawghauler Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I will be sure to use the link through this site when ordering thanks for the info. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 11, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 11, 2007 BassResource.com recieves a small portion of the sale if the sale is a result from clicking on the BPS banner on BassResource.com. Clicking on the banner works just like any other link (so you can login and use their site per usual). It's just that the path is tracked through to the completed shopping purchase if a person enters their site from the banner. Currently there are no other banners on this site that work this way, although Cabela's is coming soon. For the rest of the banners - the advertisers are looking for exposure and traffic. If nobody is clicking on their banners, they don't see the traffic they're expecting, and they pull their ads. So please, click on their banners and check out their sites. And if you like what they offer, buy it. BassResource.com receives payment from advertisers, if you can believe that. And, believe it or not, I am picky about who advertises. If you buy something, and it works as advertised... hurray! I expect it. When you buy something and it works beyond your wildest dreams, and your fishing thrives because of it, don't blame me. Call them, and shoot 'em straight. Without precious, precious advertisers and our thoughtful members, I would have to pay for all this. Thanks, one and all. (How's that for the ultimate patronizationary talk?) Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted January 12, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 12, 2007 Well, I can't speak for the rest of us, but I think your use of such vernacullary is bordering on presuptuosness. With all due respect to the members, including myself, I would speculate that very few of us really understand what we think that Bush thinks he is probably trying to say. Therefore, your includingness of his vocabularianisms is very confusing to the majority of us. Please offer your clarificatings. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Mike Quote

Zel Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Thanks Glenn for the explanation. Without hesitation, reservation and further conversation, I will institute the application of visiting the advertiser's destination, in order to avoid paying a donation for the education I get on this Bass Resource location, which will then result in this site receiving compensation so it can continue it's administration and operation without any consternation. I get it! Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation. Quote

All I can say is it looks like Glenn's strategery has paid off and provided us a very productious site for us to read. Stay the course, do good in veggies and eat you're shool. Quote
