Guest avid Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Guido Hibdon. I dont know what amazes me more, all the votes for Roland Martin or that anyone would list Ike !! Is this a joke? I mean Roland Martin AOY how many times? And Ike. I can understand that his personality can turn people off, but I can't help but admire the way he bounced back from all the controversy by shutting his mouth and winning AOY. That showed me he has the true grit of a champion. I actually came back to the post to state that my post should have read. Ike is my current favorite Rick Clunn is my all time Favorite Quote
buckthefisherman Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 The Ike jimmy houston me myself and I Quote
Super User RoLo Posted December 20, 2006 Super User Posted December 20, 2006 Is this a joke? I mean Roland Martin AOY how many times? Ray Scott himself was asked who he regarded as the most remarkable tourny pro. Ray answered "Roland Martin", saying that you could drop that man off with a helicopter in the middle of nowhere and Roland would find bass. And Ike. I can understand that his personality can turn people off, but I can't help but admire the way he bounced back from all the controversy by shutting his mouth and winning AOY. I too was turned off by Ike's antics, but listen to Ike when he speaks, he's a very glib and intelligent young man. There were people who never watched fishing on television who would tune-in just to see some eccentric named "Ike". In the final analysis, Iaconelli adds color to our sport and is good for the sport of fishing. Remember what Cassius Clay did for boxing? Remember what Bobby Fischer did for chess? Roger Quote
Skidder Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 "G" - He is a friend of mine Hardware - The NICEST guy I 've ever fished with! Stone Pony - Another GREAT guy! Ike - No matter what, he can flat out put 'em in the box! KVD - Will go down as THE greatest of all time. Mike Reynolds - One of the nicest guys out there! Quote
pete s Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 cat you got number one right. i was at the leesburg weighin, and watched the guys leave the stage and pass tim tucker(bass). most had very little they would reveal. tommy martin was there about 15- 20mins talking about fishing, and the tournament. larry nixon was same way. if you want to learn fishing get larry or tommys dvds. they are both like e.f. hutton and you need to listen. bass109 Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 My favorites are Al Linder, Shaw,Bill,Mike, stacey,Roland,Nixon,Larry,Bernie,David, the list goes on. The only thing that i dont like is our favorite pros, advertising too much on infomercial lures like booyah spinnerbaits. Quote
tallydude Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Ike, then KVD, and Preston Clark (the guy seems so likeable). The first person I ever followed was Rick Clunn, and I'm still a fan. I had the opportunity to meet and spend about an hour with Bill Dance. Nicest. Guy. Ever. Quote
edbassmaster Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Alot of people dont like Ike...he is the best out there right now. AOY...period! That award is given to the "best" of the year. Besides he has brought so many people to our sport in the last couple years. Not to mention he won an ESPY. Quote
