Does anyone on the forum have a rainsuit called a TecH20?  The "H" in tech is the first letter in the H20  on the label.

I seen them at Gander Mountain tonight on clearence.  The bibs are around $40, and the jacket was around $50.

Is this rainsuit any good?  It looked and felt like a quality suit, but I have yet to own a good one, so I really don't know.

Thanks for any help.

I don't have TecH2O gear but I went online to check the Gander Mountain catalog to compare that gear with what I use, which is the Bass Pro Gore Tex rain gear and the Gander Mountain site says that they no longer publish a catalog since Gander Mountain was sold to Holiday Industries. I thought that was odd.

Anyway, I would have to say that if the TecH2O gear is breathable or has gore-tex it may be a good purchase.

The Gander Tech20 stuff does not have Gore-Tex. IMHO if your going to spend money on rainwear and want it to be totally waterproof, Gore-Tex is the only way to go. If your budget is tight then the Gander brand will probably do ok for you.

I have a gander mountain rain jacket that I LOVE.  It is not the TechH20 though, I thnk mine is a step down.  It has been really good to me becasue I have fished some heavy rains and stayed dry.  I wish they were marked down at my Gander Mountain b/c I want some of those bibs.

It might be like the Tek2 stuff from llbean or cablelas version of it.  Gore tex is proprietary stuff, so if its in there, its on the lable.  Which makes it a bit costly.  You have to pay Mr. Gore for his work you know.

I have the premium gore tex from cabelas (not guidewear, its a bit cheaper) for the parka, and I love it.  It has the cool max mesh, which is nice for Florida.  The EXV pants dont have the mesh but are breathable.  I bought the cheaper cablelas stuff originaly and I didn't like it.    The nylon packable gear is light, but don't go trying to play Army Ranger in it.  It will tear if it snags on a branch or bush.  I don't know how your spot is, but where I fish, I occasionally have to jump a fence or cast from the bushes.

The gore tex stuff is tough and keeps you dry (I have personally spent 5hrs in the suit).  You just have to pay out the wazzooo for it.

There is always frogg toggs.  I'm getting my uncle a set of these for Christmas.

later.

I have a TecH20 rainsuit, the bibs and coat.  This is Gander Mountain's own brand.  I love it, it does not have Gore Tex, but does have a water proof, vapor permeable liner such has Gore Tex or Sympatex.  I have had mine for at least 4 years and have used it a lot.  It is good stuff and has never let me down.  The price you stated is a steal, might buy 2 at that price.  Keep one for the truck and the other in your boat.  Just remember if you wash it use a soap such as Sport Wash that completely rinses out.  If you use standard laundry detergent it will clog up the pores in the membrane and will no longer be waterproof.  At that price you might want to hurry, they will surely sell quickly.
