Captain Cali Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Low_Budget_Hookers made a joke a while back that I should change my name to Captain Cali since I would always stand up for Cali when others would bash it (for whatever reason, mainly "bass food"). I think this was around the time Weakley caught the 25.1 and stuff was flying all over the place. Stuff I didn't really like to hear or read even though most of it was in good fun. I got caught up in it good too. Speaking of...what ever happened to Rattletrap?? My original name, Roger310, doesn't really work anymore since 310 was my # when I raced PWC. Those days are long gone now. A PWC racer turned bass fisherman. Kind of ironic don't ya think? Quote
Super User senile1 Posted October 17, 2006 Super User Posted October 17, 2006 Captain Cali, It's funny how sometimes you get an idea about someone just by how they look. Â (Although more often than not, you can be wrong.) Â I figured you for a motocross racer. Â I guess that's somewhat similar to PWC racing. Â Quote
airborne_angler Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Decided to make a name change. Decided against being NON ORIGINAL. My new name is taken from the fact that even though im retired I will always be what I was in the Army, and thats a Paratrooper(hence the name Airborne). Im an angler so that fits, gee I feel better now that I thought of something original. Quote
Captain Cali Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 senile1, Motorcycles scare me! Love watching motocross but good luck getting me to do what they do. I've hit the water going 60+mph and it can hurt. I couldn't imagine doing it on dirt! The only bikes I ride have pedals! Â ;D Quote
Vyron Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Vyron is my real name . Its the greek version of Byron. Quote

Jolicious Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Hi!  Great thread! When I worked in a processing plant, we had a shift manager that was the type of bos that everyone likes..  He was always friendly, free with advice, and a great all 'round guy.  He gave us all nicknames.  He named me "Bubbalicios" and could even page me that way over the radio.  It stuck for a while.  When the internet came into being, I once tried to use "bubbalicious" for an email, but it was taken so I had to figure something else out.  Since my name is "Joe", I tried "Jolicious", and it worked - Matter of fact, I haven't seen it copied yet, so it's easy to keep track of stuff  ;D Now then, for the Garfield Pic - when I used to drive dirt track race cars, I weighed about 400 pounds, and was lovingly known as "Fat Cat" - Even had the garfield painted on my trunk and all... Sine then, I lost down to 250 pounds or so, but don't have the nerve to go by "Chubby Kitty" just yet ;D Quote
Chug Bug Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Well, I wish I could say my name is from fishing but........it is actually from a KISS song. Kiss has been one of my favorite bands forever..........I am also a drummer and bass player so music is big with me..........anyway, the song is called Deuce..........(you know your man is workin hard, he's worth that Deuce)..........and I was born in 1972.................How exciting huh! ;D ;D ;D Get up, and get your grandma out of here. Pick up, old Jim's been working hard this year. Quote
Deuceu72 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Chug Bug.............YOU DA MAN! Glad to see another Kiss fan(At least I hope you are!).........Is there anywhere you can go and not meet a Kiss fan? Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted October 17, 2006 Super User Posted October 17, 2006 The name fits the way I fish. I usually cast in toward the bank when I'm in a boat and trudge around the bank when fishing from shore. Quote
BASS fisherman Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I use my user name on lots of other sites too. Â Yahoo Answers, and Photobucket to name a couple. Â I think it is fairly obvious why I chose that name, I am a BASS_fisherman. Â The avatar pic is me holding the biggest bass I have yet to catch. Â I am a big fan of quotes because the good ones are bits of info to take with you through life. Â Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 THATS JUST NOT RIGH ::)T SENILE Hence, the name, muddy_man. I wondered if that was your reasoning behind your name. I also wondered if you were just a dirty fellow and never bathed. Quote

Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 17, 2006 Super User Posted October 17, 2006 Hmmmm.....I can only imagine what Glenn's response might be to this thread. I dont have the slightest clue about that screen name.... ;D Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted October 17, 2006 Super User Posted October 17, 2006 I wanted to use FISH, but I assumed it would have been taken, so I spelled it this way GH as in rough O as in women TI as in nation A little play on the spelling. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted October 17, 2006 Super User Posted October 17, 2006 My name is Kirby McCreary. K_Mac is the shortened version-nothing nearly as creative as some others. My avitar is a picture my wife recently took with our new digital camera. I just posted it today. I can now play with the big dogs, since I figured out how to post a picture. My signature is one of my favorite Bible verses. Quote
Zel Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 First 3 letters of my last name not very imaginative. Quote
Hawgin Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Well, when I was in college we used to always crack on guys who were chasing after the bigger girls, saying that they were going hawgin. Â I thought that translated well into bass fishing, since most of us are out there chasing the big girls. Quote
texasbass1 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 From Texas and Bass fishing is my #1 priority. Quote
Troutfisher Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Back a while ago I had to have a name for Yahoo Instant Messenger. I like to trout fish, and you had to have a number, so I chose 91. My name on here is Troutfisher91, and I recently edited the 91 out and just stuck with "Troutfisher." Due to the fact that I am one of the only fisherman on the board from WV, I have considered changing my nickname in the near fututre to WV_Fisher or something. My avatar changes frequently, and it is usually a picture of me at some sort of unique place, or with some sort of fish. Quote
senko_77 Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 I choose SENKO because at the time it was my favorite technique and I was good at it. Â 77 is the number of my favorite hockey player, Ray Bourque. Â Senko77 is simple so I just stuck with it. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted October 17, 2006 Super User Posted October 17, 2006 "RoLo" is the composite of Roger & Lois. I've fished with a number of really fine gentlemen over the years, but mama & I have been fishing together for 43 years, she's numero uno. We started out together on a shoestring and our first boat was a 12-ft aluminum rowboat. A couple years later I was able to spring for a 10-hp Eska outboard (cost $100). We used our little soaky toy in both fresh and saltwater. I learned the dubious art of launching a rowboat in the Jersey surf, to become part of the so-called "mosquito fleet". That expression was not used derisively though, because the activities of the mosquito fleet were closely monitored by expensive sportfisherman and charter boats. The tin cans routinely put them on feeding bluefish, stripers and weakfish, we were seagulls without wings Roger Quote
Craw Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 My last name is McCraw. Gets confused with McGraw quite a bit so I would always say, "it's Craw" after it was mispronounced by someone. That's how it all started. I get called crawdad, crawdaddy, crawfish, quick draw and even mac sometimes but Craw more than anything. My first name is Mark but people seldom use it. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted October 17, 2006 Super User Posted October 17, 2006 I am a land surveyor and the name of my little company is Associated Land ProfessionalS as I consult with other engineers, architects, planners on land development projects. I capitalize the S at the end of professionals for the sake of my LOGO, which is a little mountain range. ALPS is how all of my asssociates, clients and friends refer to the business. As the owner who needed a unique screen name on the internet, I became Alpster back in 1999. You will find me on numerous message boards about church, motorcycles, fishing, metal fabrication, etc..
