-nick- Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I fish from shore and its a pretty good ways from the car to the shore I fish at mostly and I need a safe and easy way to get at least 3-4 rods down there. Something that would hold more would be nice so my friends could fit too. I'm not sure which one of these rod carriers would be safer and easier. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_36941_100011007_100000000_100011000_100-11-7 vs http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_90079_100002007_100000000_100002000_100-2-7 Any thoughts on which one would be better? Super User Muddy Posted February 8, 2009 Super User Posted February 8, 2009 Hey Nick: I would contact Island Bass, right here on the forums. He put up some pictures of one he made himself, seemed like an easy project and was better than the ones you can buy. Quote
IDbasser Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 If you do not make one, I would go with the second one. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted February 8, 2009 Super User Posted February 8, 2009 If you do not make one, I would go with the second one. Ya, me too! But take a look at the Bass Pro Rod Socks too. Quote
Super User CWB Posted February 8, 2009 Super User Posted February 8, 2009 If you only have 3 or 4, just velcro them together. You can get velcro strips anywhere. Always carry them backwards when you are getting to where you are going to be fishing. Won't break any that way. Quote

Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted February 8, 2009 Super User Posted February 8, 2009 if all a your rods are less than 7' then the second but not for anything 7' or over...plus the rod socks bend a 7' rod Quote

SudoomFisher Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I have the same situation and although I have yet to buy it, I plan on getting this one http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0043804122116a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=shimano+rod+carrier&sort=all&Go.y=0&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&Go.x=0&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1 Bantam says it can hold 8 rods with reels. I was looking at the second one also but the reviews on the basspro site werent so hot. Also the shimano one is less bulky and cheaper Quote
