Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 OK guys, with winter on the doorstep I need some suggestions from everyone. Should we do a Nov challenge? Lots of us will be shut down long before Nov ends and I'm wondering if we should put member challenges on "hold" till the spring. The whole program was extremely successful. Once we ironed out the kinks (many thanks to you guys for that, your input means everything) Lots of guys caught fish and a few nice ones I might add, on baits they either had no confidence or success with. GREAT JOB TO EVERYONE!!!! I am definately not cancelling it, just putting it off till spring but if you folks want to keep it going through the winter, I have no problem accomodating our southern folk, but want to make sure there will be enough participation. Thoughts? Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 29, 2006 Super User Posted October 29, 2006 I agree with your Spring suggestion. It would be awful if one of our members got sick or injured trying to win the members challenge onor in cold water. Plus the fact that I will only be fishing the hot side of Lake Anna this winter, where the fishing is just like in the summer thanks to the nuclear plant. My vote is to wait until Spring when we all are itching to get back to our usual fishing grounds. Quote
fishbear Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 no arguement from me putting it off till spring... since I will not be able to get out as much either.. gonna be decking and updating the jon boat.... Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted October 29, 2006 Super User Posted October 29, 2006 After fishbear's spinnerbait challange I say put it off for a while. I got skunked. I hate spinnerbaits. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted October 29, 2006 Super User Posted October 29, 2006 Skip November. When you restart next spring I'd suggest the first signup, say the first of March be for April.. In the couple I've been involved in I didn't get my challenge till the middle of the month. that's not a lot of time to give it a try if I don't have the ability to fish the last week or two of the month. Guest the_muddy_man Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 WHY NOT TAKE THE CHALLANGE INDOODS FOR THE WINTERWe can expand the challange to include my other favorite species BLONDES, BRUNETTES AND RED HEADS Quote
Super User cart7t Posted October 29, 2006 Super User Posted October 29, 2006 That WILL involve the posting of pictures muddy. and I wanna see the hook in her. Ya know, Some guys lie about those kind of things just like fishermen lie about the fish they catch. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Yea u Right Cart I have Never gone home with an ugly woman in my life but I seem to have waken up with a few If no one sees you with them IT DONT EVER HAVE TO COUNT Quote

I agree with Cart7 lets wait. I also agree that the sign up for a certain month should be the last 2 weeks of the month before the challenge starts. LBH I never did receive a challenge for Oct from ya. Good thing I've been a little busy too. Thats why I didnt bother you about it. Quote
Bassassasin12 Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I say we do the spring thing, or else I know I wont be able to partake in the challenge. P.S. what ever happened to the mojo thing? Did it just stop? Quote

Super User Matt Fly Posted October 30, 2006 Super User Posted October 30, 2006 This is a great time of the year to work on spoons, something most anglers don't try very often, but is very effective when fish are deep and suspended. Matt. Quote
Troutfisher Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I'd say wait until spring...of course, you could start it up as early as March when the BassResource.com caravan heads South to Lake Fork. Perhaps you could do your challenging there with other members? I know that I will be lucky if I can go on Saturdays to fish. After school fishing isn't an option any longer due to Daylight Savings time and daylight only lasting until 5:45. Quote
Zel Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Maybe run a Bait Monkey challenge over the winter... but keep me out of it! Quote
