Our C.A.S.T. event countdown

Well, we had our last meeting before the big game. Next saturday, we will be holding the 1st C.A.S.T. event in New England here in my home state of RI.

a special thanks to Glenn for the intro to CFK,  Chris Brown from Strike King, The BR members coming to help and a special thanks to Mykeybe for his donation of new plastics for the kids grab bags.

I will be making a big video of the whole event. If you think they have been getting long lately,....you won't like this!

I gaurentee however that it will surely move you. I havn't looked forward to somthing this much in a looong time.

Fingers crossed for no mishaps.

To be honest, I havn't met any of the kids that are coming yet, just the activities directors at their facilties.

I have a goal.  I want to make 1 friend each year that I can keep in the game.  1 kid that really takes to this fishing thing with a passion.  I'm sure there will be 1 family I connect with that I can have a continuing fishing schedule with.

A big goal at this event that is different from past CAST events is that the people helping with shoreside fishing (RI B.A.S.S. youth team) and all the boat captains have been instructed that the main goal or mission here isn't just to get a child fishing but to also TEACH the FAMILY & SIBLINGS so they can take this whole experience with them and continue it when we aren't around.  It's the parents that need to know how to tie a knot and set up a bobber,etc.

So where are the kids fishing?Will it be easy for them to hookup?The biggest drawback with young kids and fishing is keeping them interested......they get bored real easy as you may know.We have a kids trout rally here in town and when the fish stop biting,the kids get unruly. ;D

I havn't fished it personally but the B.A.S.S. guys swear it's perfect.  Tons of sunnies and small aggressive bass.

Location-wise, we couldn't have done better if these guys are right.

Muddy, depending on when/where you want to have an event like this, I would be willing to help any way I can. Just let me know. I will keep my eyes open for info on here regarding an event in PA.

Thanks speed bad  Ron is getting back Sat, and my final paper is due Mon , then Im off ofr 2 weeks from school We are looking at mauch Chunk for next Sept but will start the leg work now Please PM me with some contact info I will answer you with the same We are gonna need all the help we can,never did this before.
