fish-fighting-illini Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Does anyone have a computer fishing game that they can recommend ( not playstation ). Probably only 2005 or 2006 as can't buy old. If someone has an old good one then same co probably makes a newer version that is good. I've checked out a couple of Rapala trial versions and didn't think a lot of them. I'm not looking for major tutorial type just plain catching fish etc. I've got to start planning for winter fishing withdrawl here in the Midwest of Illinois lol! Ice fishing is not in the cards for me! I did play an awsome one at an arcade that had a reel with a short rod stub, very realistic and fun as heck. The reel vibrated when the fish bit and you had to watch tension etc. I will check again but I looked for the same name in computer version and did not see it listed a while back. Quote
NCthompson Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Rapala Pro Fishing looks like a good game. You can fish bass, pike, walleye, salmon, catfish, muskie, trout and some more. Link below. http://pc.ign.com/objects/699/699483.html Quote
bassclown Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Rapala Pro Fishing looks like a good game. You can fish bass, pike, walleye, salmon, catfish, muskie, trout and some more. fish-fighting-illini Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 Thanks for the replies. I've just tried the demo/ trial version of the Rapala so maybe the real thing is better. Quote
ThaSadDaddy Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I have the rapala game and its alright but I really want to try the Cabellas game where you can hunt and fish. Quote
OSU_Fisherman Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I have the rapala game and its alright but I really want to try the Cabellas game where you can hunt and fish. Keep us posted if you do end up getting the Cabellas game because I'm looking to buy just one nice fishing game here in the coming weeks. Thanks! Quote
ThaSadDaddy Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Ill let you know how it is if I end up getting that game. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 I went and tried the Rapala demo again and I just didn't like it. It was hard to figure out plus steering the boat with the keyboard was a pain. I couldn't cast more than 15ft no matter what I did. Plus the underwater screen gives you the feeling that you are bouncing up and down in the water. It makes you feel like you are in the water wearing a lifejacket. I even tried the tutorial and struggled. Once I finaly found a listing for the keys it was a little better but I still never caught a fish ( maybe it mimics real life too much? lol). I looked up Pro Bass fishing 2003 and played the demo. It has quite a few lake choices and lure choices. The graphics are pretty good. It has many kinds of fish and played pretty smooth. It filled my needs so for $19.99 on line I bought it. Just IMO Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I've been playing EA's Championship Bass for a few years now, and I think its great. I don't know if you can still find it since it came out in 2000, but I found it at Wal-Mart a few years ago packaged with Deer Hunt Challenge (which is ok). I also have Trophy Bass 2 from Sierra, but I haven't installed it on my new PC yet. I think its a better game for realism as you don't see the bait underwater, rather just the fisherman on the bow of his boat. I don't even know if it can be found at all, though, as it came out in 1998 . Quote
BucketmouthAngler13 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I have the rapala game and its alright but I really want to try the Cabellas game where you can hunt and fish. dont get it, it stinks. if you want a hutning game, try Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2005, it is awsome. Quote
Troutfisher Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I'll second Cabela's Big Game Hunter and Dangerous Hunts. Both great games...however, I don' think you're looking for hunting games, you're looking for fishing games. Quote

I played that game a ton but no longer have it. Quote
RollONTwo Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I think Pro Bass Fishing 2003 is the best I have played since Sierra Trophy Bass 4. Graphics are not so great but you have a lot of lakes and lures. I hate Rapala Pro Fishing you have to catch every fish in a spot just to get to the bass lol. It is pretty though. Quote
SBM-RL Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Ive played alot of fishing game for computer my brother has been playin this in fisherman game that u can get at target it looks real good for ps2 i like bass strike Quote

Agree 100% Rapala Pro Fishing sucks! the graphics are good but it ends there. The game is just not fun. No trolling motor, no fish finder, can only use crankbaits, tiny lakes, no online play. I could go on but I wont. Pro Bass Fishing 2003 is easily the most fun fishing game made for the pc to date. The graphics aren't nearly as good as Rapala but it blows it away in every other aspect IMO. Quote
