nralover Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Do you guys have a preferred brand of buzzbait? What is your preferred color and weight? Do you ever modify them? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 6, 2009 Super User Posted February 6, 2009 Cavitron, white/chart, silver/blue, black, and I fish them out of the package, with a trailer hook added. Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I have used the Booyah and Strike King buzz. Most of mine are black or dark colored to stand out in low light conditions. Really like the SK mini buzz for a different look and sound. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted February 6, 2009 Super User Posted February 6, 2009 Booyah pond magic 1/8 buzz is a killer! The cavitron is a no brainer-the best on the market. I recently took my all white cavitron 3/8 and painted the blade white also. Quote
fivesixone Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Cavitron, black with red. 3/8 oz black on black Cavitron is the only buzzbait you need around this neck of the woods! Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 7, 2009 Super User Posted February 7, 2009 I use a custom jointed buzzbait that is difficult for the bass to throw. I have the most success with the 3/8 oz. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted February 7, 2009 Super User Posted February 7, 2009 Another with a metal blade- Quote
Gilmore7 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I have had good luck with Cavitron too. I really like the top props. I use The blue shad color mostly, and always use a trailer hook or else you get alot of misses. The best part of it is when you get a short strike you can stop reeling and it floats, and you will get them when they hit again. Quote
VolFan Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Cavitron and triple wings. I really really like the triple wing and it' pretty inexpensive. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted February 7, 2009 Super User Posted February 7, 2009 Cavitron, white/chart, silver/blue, black, and I fish them out of the package, with a trailer hook added. I think it is the best out there, hands down! Quote
IDbasser Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I use 1/8 oz white. I bought some cavitron buzzbaits to use this year. Quote

Super User burleytog Posted February 7, 2009 Super User Posted February 7, 2009 i had one cavitron it was white and red throw it two times, cut it off and throw in the lake it never would plane. i must have got a lemon out of the bunch cause it was junk anyone else had this problem? Nope. I gave mine to people I don't like. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 7, 2009 Super User Posted February 7, 2009 3/8 oz Cavitron, black on black 8-) Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 7, 2009 Super User Posted February 7, 2009 Cavitrons. White when it is sunny and black when it is cloudy. Always add a trailer hook. Larger ones for lakes; smaller ones for rivers and ponds. Never had a problem with them in any manner. They fish great out of the box. Quote
UPS VT Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I have never tried the cavitron. I had good success with a white Strike King Double Take last summer. I have to admit I felt like I was throwing the kitchen sink with the double blade, but the fish didn't seem to mind . Quote
Super User CWB Posted February 7, 2009 Super User Posted February 7, 2009 The double bladed models by Strike King and BPS have become my favorites. Just got a Boo-Yah Bi-You I can't wait to try. Quote
BassinBoy Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 The buzzbait is the only lure that I'm not very picky about. I just choose according to color and they normally do the job. I've used many brands and the colors I like are white and chartruese. Quote
