Out at my normal fishin hole the other day w/ no pole just clearing some brush for later.  Apparently someone let a couple boards out of the dam at the far end,  the water dropped a couple feet in an hour.  Good for me, makes more room to clear the brush.  Anyways im walkin along and hear some thrashin from a bush that was underwater a few minutes ago.  Go to take a closer look and the biggest bass ive ever seen (in person anyways).  Didnt have a scale, a tape measure, nothing.  My personal best is 6.5# and this thing was easily twice as big.  Unfortunately he looked pretty cut up and when i placed im back in the water i saw im keep surfacing every ten feet or so. I would love to try catching this fish legitamately, you guys think he died?

If you 're not holding it like this---->PICT0528.JPG and didn 't catch it on rod and reel it don 't count.

I dunno, dude,  bass are EXTREMELY tough animals. for example, last year at one of my favorite lakes out here in Oregon, i hooked a pretty small bass with a crankbait. front hooks in mouth, back hooks IN the gill. I mean, entangled in the red stuff. took 15 minutes to unhook, and she swam away like nothing ever happened.
