Super User Gatorbassman Posted July 13, 2006 Super User Posted July 13, 2006 Much of Lake Varner remains virtually uncharted water. Did you read that Randall. Uncharted. If they only had the charts we have. Quote
Triton_Mike Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 My biggest is 34lbs out of Ray Roberts in Texas. All caught on a buzzbait. Broke my personal best twice in the same trip. 10lbs, 9lbs, 8lbs, 5lbs, 2lbs. I could have culled that 2lber if a big summer texas storm wouldn't have thrown me off the water. I caught these 5 fish in a matter of an hour prior to the storm. T Mike Randall shadupp!!! Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 about 40 lbs with one fish off a jig. Oh wait this isnt a catfish question. I'd say about 26-28lbs since I have to limit it to 5 fish. Earlier this year I was hammering the biggies. Not so much anymore I havent had time to figure them out and catch'em. I had it down to where I could throw my lure in thier front door and hookem. Yeah and you guys in the far south need to give us a handicap of 5lbs. So all of our fish weigh 5 more pounds then what they do or you guys lose 5lbs. Your 10 lbers are as common as catching a 5lber here. LOL Quote

Brad_Coovert Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Never weighed fish during a fun outing, but judging by size, the best would be around 18 - 20 lbs. I'll take that in Indiana any day. My best tournament catch was over 12 lbs. Not much, but it won our club classic and out of only 8 fish that were weighed in by the whole group, I hade five of them. 8-) I never seem to find the big fish when I am in a tourney though, only fun fishing or in practice. Fish Chris Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 That was one impressive string of fish posted by George Welcome ! Very close weight to my best 5..... and I'm going to come clean here.... I didn't weight the smallest of my best five fish limit either, as it was only about a 4 :-) But come on.... I already said I'm not a numbers guy ! :-) Anyway, since we are posting a few photos, here are those two fish that I caught for 28.5 lbs The first here is a big, bug-eyed, 13.5 lb'er This one is a 15.0 (which BTW, was caught two years later by a young, on-his-way-up trophy hunter, and she had grown to 16-13 ! I felt great to have made that possible for him :-) .... yes, I'm patting myself on the back here :-) Oh, both were caught site fishing with a Basstrix Bluegill. Peace, Fish Quote
