Ok, this is an interesting thought, that shows if you have fished allot of lakes or bodies of water or just fish the same water all the time.

How many lakes (bodies of water includes rivers, streams, bays but NO PONDS) have you caught a 6lb bass or bigger in? Name the body of water and state it is in.

Here is my list.

1) Lake Fork (Texas)

2) Callender Lake (Texas)

3) Cooper Lake (Texas)

4) Purtis Creek (Texas)

5) Ray Roberts (Texas)

6) Lake Norton (Kansas)

7) Dr's Lake/St.John's River (Florida)

3 lakes .... Lake Fork in TX and Truman Lake in MO are probably the only two that people know nationally.

(3 ponds  ::) ;D)

That's cool. I was going to ask you if you have ever fished Norman Lake in Kansas? I only fished it once and loved it. Caught like 25 bass including a nice fat 6+lb bass off of a tree row. Had another break my line. Do you live in Kansas?

I'm not even sure about 6 lb'ers, but I have caught bass over 10 lbs from 8 different Cali lakes;

Lk. Berryessa

Clear Lk.

Coyote Res.

Lk. Chabot

San Pablo Dam Res.

Rancho Seco Lk.

Shadow Cliffs Res.

Lk. Del Valle

In all honesty though, my list of lakes with bass over 6 lbs, would probably not be much bigger, as I really don't fish too many other lakes that are not on this list, for bass.

Peace,

Fish

Pretty awesome Fish. 10lb+ fish for me=0 But I am working on it.

KU_Bassmaster, perhaps if I would correctly Identify the name of the lake you would know it. I did a little surfing and realized that I named the lake wrong.  :-[ (It has been a few years and I only been there 1 time) the name of the lake is Norton. There is a state park Keith Sebelious there where I stayed. It had Prairie Dogs everywhere. In fact it had a huge statue of a Prarie Dog at the entrance I remember.

I corrected it on my list.

Unfortunately I have never caught a 6lb+ bass before. My PB is a 3lber which isn't much to brag about. It kind of makes me question just how good a fisherman I am. I read all kinds of tips in Bassmaster Magazine, here on Bass Resource, and I even have a few fishing books. But for some reason I'm just not that good. 90% of the time :'( when I go I either get skunked or screw up my hookset on every single fish. Wish I knew what the problem is.

Never caught any Bass over 5 lbs, but rest assured im working on it every Chance I get.

I've caught several 6+ pounders in 8 different lakes, but only Grenada Lake & Enid Lake would be known by many people outside of Mississippi.

Yes I have heard of that.  It's actually known as  Keith Sebelius Reservoir now.  The dam is still called Norton Dam.  At least that's what I garthered on a quick google search.  Never fished it though.

A big fat zero for me too.  but Minnesota's pretty tough that way. the state record is just over 8.  If it was changed to fish over 4 lbs I would have quite a few...  ::)

C'mon guys no ponds  ;) Or I could throw in a bunch more too. The lake doesn't have to be known by others just a lake. Let's say over 30 acres. Anything over that I will say counts.
