Top Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 on July 3rd I was home on leave and it was POURING rain. I couldn't go fishing so I decided I would take the bait monkey for a little walk. I went to a small local bait shop where I knew they stocked Team Supreme products. They are a local company that makes some VERY nice looking products. Anyways I LOVE swim jigs and they make some NICE ONES I have been wanting to really try out. This small store didn't have any in the color I wanted so when the clerk asked if he could help me with anything. I asked him if he had any black/blue swim jigs... he said no but the guy I needed to talk to was right there (pointing). This guy comes over and asks if there is something I needed. I said yes I was interested in some swim jigs... he gets on the phone and calls someone and next thing I knew this young man comes in carrying 8 packages of swim jigs... unfortunately they weren't black/blue and the guy was like NO PROBLEM what color and hook do you want? I was amazed at having a CHOICE in HOOKS??? he explained to me the two different kinds of hooks available and applications etc. I decided on what I wanted and back into the rain this guy goes and brings me back 8 more swim jigs in the color and hook style I wanted... turns out the younger guy is the kid to the owner of team supreme and the origional guy I talked to was the owner... all three of us stood there and talked fishing for a while and then the dad left.. the son and I talked fishing for I swear 2 hours. He gave me all sorts of pointers on fishing with tubes and swim jigs etc. He also gave me an open invitation to go fishing with him anytime I get down there... Folks THAT is how to get a loyal customer... No they didn't give me anything for free... the customer service is what got me to be a fan.. that and the products are NICE.. and at a price point worth really looking at... for example the swim jigs are $4.15 or so for TWO... that is a good price for these things!!! if you get a chance look up "team supreme" and give them a chance and I would be willing to bet that you will be just as impressed with their products as I am... tipptruck1 Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Thats why I like small companys. I bet bass pro would never do that. Quote
John Cullum Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Thats what I like to hear. I will give them a look in the off-season when I re-stock for next year. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted July 12, 2006 Super User Posted July 12, 2006 Great story. It's one of the reasons I like the mom and pop stores and use them when I can. There are still some big companies out there that seem to value their customers also. Service like that used to be the rule; now it is the exception. Quote
fishingaddict Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 great story! i wish all fishing stores were like that and that we had some where i live but unfortunately i live in a VERY rich town that would eventually tear down all mom & pop type fishing shops and build multi million dollar condos happened to the marina we keep a saltwater boat at they were bought out by a BIG company and are turning into a "dockominium" and the dry storage is going for at the least $120,000 a year!!! > enough of my rambling I just really wish we had some of those stores around :'( Quote
Keithscatch Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 To sum it up I think the answer is to Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Of course someone wise once said that No one buys from people they don't trust at least not twice. So gaining people's trust is key and doing what you descibed gains trust. Quote
