Somebody said to me the other day at the lake "this must be your favorite, your here all the time". Actually it is not. I consider it my home lake because I have fished it all my life and its 10 min. away.

BUT it is not my favorite. There is a lake almost 2hrs away that is my favorite to fish. For alot of reasons.

So, is your home lake your favorite?

Nope....... Even though my Home lake is Santee Cooper, My favorite that I've fished is Okachobee!!... There's also a couple of good  ones I'm fond of in Tx when I was stationed there, like Falcon, Choke Canyon, Amistad, and Coleto Creek..... ;)

Good Post!!!

I am fortunate enough to be able to live very close to a chain of five lakes.  All very different from the next in available species, techniques, and presentation. They are my home lakes and I would classify them as my favorite, because I have the best success on them.  One might be good for numbers, while the other is good for size, one is good for LM while another is good for SM.  Depending on style of fishing I want to do can dictate where I go. I  really can't think of a better situation.  The best part is also work with 2 minutes of one of the five, can you guess what I do during my lunch breaks.  ;D

My favorite lake is my home waters, and I had to move to get close to her.   Lake Fork.    But any east TX lake can be my favorite.    East Tx has lots of hydrilla and other vegitation.    I love a good jig bite in the deep grass in the summer, grass that is growing from 20ft up to 8ft.    I figure most of the shallow grass is beat to death by bank beaters.

My favorite lake is my former home lake, Ketucky Lake. With the exception of certain northern species (pike, lake trout) I believe it to be the finest overall lake in the country. It is a great fishery for many types of fish and world class for for bass, catfish and crappie (probably the best crappie lake in the country).

My home lake is my absolute favorite bass lake in the world (I'm never moving) :)

I'm retired and can live on any lake that I choose, so my home lake was no accident.

There were a couple of other lakes in Florida that we also considered,

but we weren't impressed by the neighboring cities.

I dont have any lakes nearby, but I am by the chesapeake bay and all its tributaries.  middle river is absolutely my favorite river to fish, and the closest to my house.  but many of the other rivers are almost just as close and I fish them alot.

My "home lake" is definately not my favorite. It may be close, but it's not a very good fishery. I don't really have a favorite lake yet. Whichever one I happen to catch my first true hog out of will be my favorite! ;)

I guess I'm not unique here... my home lake is not my favorite.  It's a great lake, and numbers usually cooperate but there are many other lakes I'd choose first if time and gas didn't figure into getting there.

I like it buts its not my favorite. This year its really been producing good fish more than I've ever seen and I've fished it for 20 years. I dunno it must have something to do with the unuasual ammount of rain and the much higher than normal water level.

My home lake is also my favorite lake.I've fished it since I was a boy and know it up and down. The thing I find unique about it is even though I know it so well,I always seem to find something new about it that enhances my knowledge of it.

My home lake is my favorite. I fished it for a year when a house came up on the market and it was a no brainer (I had to have it). I'm lucky, all I have to do is push my boat in and I'm fishing. Even on slow days we'll catch 15-20 bass with our PB at 8.5 lbs.

my home water is a tidal river, and a connector canal.  are they close, yes, have i recorded the features, above and below water, yes.  do i catch when i go, more times than not.  is it my favorite?  not by a long shot.  its merely convienient to fish being onlu a 3 min. walk from the house.  there are truly a lack of decent lakes where i am, and transportation, to get to the ones i want to fish.  just have to settle for what i have and look forward to the places i plan on going. more important,y look forward to returing to the states where water is more bass friendly, less pressured, less polluted and average size of most of the counrty's fish is greater than 30-40cm.  roughly 12-16 inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say yes, since my favorite waters are 1600 miles away (smith mountain, va, lower potomac, and sleepy creek lake, wv)

There's also a couple of good  ones I'm fond of in Tx when I was stationed there, like Falcon, Choke Canyon, Amistad, and Coleto Creek.....

I just so happen to live 30 minutes from both Choke and Coleto. I prefer Coleto in the winter, and Choke the rest of the year  ;D

My favorite lake seems to always be the new lake that I do well at.  My infatuation with the new lake always fades though over time. I get back to the familiarity of my home lake and then that is my favorite lake again (if I catch something).  The problem with my home lake is that it's huge and hard to fish, not to mention the summertime knuckleheads (Lake Berryessa, Northern CA).
