Mike 12345 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 When you guys replace stock or dull trebles on your crankbaits, do you replace them with round bend or EWG trebles? Also, why do you choose that style over the other? Quote
Super User flechero Posted January 30, 2009 Super User Posted January 30, 2009 I always use Owner trebles as my replacements. (if they make the right size) They are so sharp that even when I'm careful, I bleed all over the table when i replace hooks... They are very strong and they remain sharp for a long time. Not to mention, I've had extremely few fish ever come unbuttoned on Owner hooks. Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 On crankbaits, I like the EWG. On topwaters and jerkbaits, I like round bend. IMO, baits that bass have a tendancy to slash at, like topwaters and jerkbaits, get better hookups with round bend hooks as they stick out more. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted January 30, 2009 Super User Posted January 30, 2009 I use the Owner Stinger Trebles. If I purchase a lure that has the "triple grip" or EWG hooks, I replace them and throw them away. Quote
