Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted May 27, 2006 Super User Posted May 27, 2006 Your Welcome!!! ;D ;D That's what you call going above and beyond. It's the little things like this that make us customers feel good and a loyal customer for life. I just can't say enough about Shimano. Quote

Super User Raul Posted May 27, 2006 Super User Posted May 27, 2006 Ok, here 's my take. Daiwa reels are great, so are Shimano reels, but Shimano always gives you something more for your money, let me give you an example: when I purchased my Chronarch 50 Mg the reel came in a nice box, with a vial of oil, 2 sets of extra weights, the wrench and a very nice felt cover to protect the reel, when I purchased the Alphas Itö ( a limited edition reel for starters ) it came in a regular box ( nothing like Shimano 's box ), with a vial of oil, a wrench and......that 's it ! no reel cover >, c 'mon you purchase a more expensive reel and they won 't "spring" with a 2 dollar reel cover. : Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Lang-They aren't just giving hats away. KU had emailed them asking where he could buy a particular hat that he was having trouble finding and they just sent it to him, no charge. Quote

Guest avid Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 oh..woops...nevermind then :-[. Don't be so hasty young jedi. A friendly customer letter can go a long way. Just send them a nice letter telling them how much you like their products. Then ask if they have a cap or any other promtional material so you can show that you use Shimano products. I would be very surprised if they didn't send you a nice little package. good luck, and be sure to let us know how it went. avid Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Abu-Garcia made me pay a whole 50 cents for a patch.Those no good,cheap so and so's. Quote
FlyRod Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I'm loyal to Shimano...well, sorta, so long as they continue the Chr. 50MG and the Castaic as they are. If, however, they do to those as they've done to the 'Rado (RIP :'() then I'm back to Daiwa. I've already relapsed in that I've been gifted with a new Viento and have bought two 153HSTs, one for myself and one as a gift to a buddy. Adding $$ and a LOT of weight to the 'Rado (save for the 100, weightwise, but which they also excessively jacked the price on!) was a downright crime. The weight gain is unforgivable, even if they'd LOWERED the price. The Citica may be improved mechanically, but it's downright obese. Long live the Green Machines! FR Quote
Aaron Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I too fish Shimano almost exclusively. All my higher end stuff is Shimano. I don't really have the urge to switch companies, I love my Shimanos. Anyway, I sent them an email a few months ago asking about where to purchase one of the hats and they said they would send me a promo one. I never got it. Im not mad because it just a free promotional item but I would have still like to have a Shimano hat. I still buy Shimano reels and will probably continue to do so for years to come. Quote
