Is this an indicator of anything?

At the lake I tried many different things. One was a large white tandem willow leaf spinner bait. I had a decent retrieve,nothing fast,but not slow rolling either. I was trying to run it near the bottom. I ended up with a dink chasing it in and grabbing hold just before I was ready to pull the bait out of the water for my next cast. The bait was actually a bit bigger than he was. I cast out about 50 more times without anything so I decide to try a crankbait,a plastic worm and a Senko.

About 2 hours go by with no bites whatsoever and I decide to try a smaller white Terminator spinner bait with a single turtle back blade. I use the same technique as before and end up with another dink striking it in just about the same way. It was like DEJA-VU. Except the first fish came in from the right and the second came from the left. My casts were paralleling the bank.

With both these fish being caught in almost the same manner and almost same bait,could this have been considered a pattern,even though the fish were 2 hours apart? For future reference what should my next plan of attack be,if I ever run into a similar situation? Oh by the way ,those were my first 2 fish ever caught on a spinner bait.

Without knowing more about the lake and its structure, it is difficult to say.  My guess is that being in AZ the water temps are a bit warm right now so I would try fishing deeper for the bigger females.  The small ones you were catching were probably males in the shallows (just my guess).  Those lures you're using should get the job done.
