Just wondering where a person may want to start fishing a Lake where the water has riaised about 4 feet in the last week. This is a lake that has three main creeks that run into it.

i've never fished flooded waters before but i would cast as far up into the flood waters as i can and work back toward where the shoreline used to be....

i know its not much to go off but i hope it helps.....

Bass tend to move with the rising water. find spots where bushes, trees, etc got flooded. Hopefully the water will be a little muddy, helps you get the boat in a bit closer without spooking them.

Along with the flood water there is an extreme amount of current also.  The upper end of this lake has several flood gates open as well.

As Duke stated, fish flooded timber, bushes, weeds, and grass.  I've had alot of look in these areas over the years.

A lot of current can be good or bad, if you can find some type of cover that's out of the current, but nearer to the large body of water that'd be the best starting place imo.

Your first thing is water color at normal conditions. If the water is muddy and a lot of junk my first suggestion would cut the grass do a little lawn work couple honey dos.

If you have to................ find clear water and the only way to do that is get to the bank even if you are in somebodys back yard or out past the barn there will be clearer water some were. Also with 3 main creeks 1 might stay clear or clear quicker. Also any super small drain ditches will clear quicker there might only 3-4 feet of clear water but it will have fish and replenish.

If your lakes water is normally off color then look for water as close to that color or a current break.

If the water running into your lake is very cold thats more bad news.

Have Fun

My lake has been low for so long I almost forget how much fun it is to fish when it is really high.  I like to go into the newly submerged areas and pitch a jig.

Great fun.

NO, the flood water coming from the dam is fairly clear this time of year just slightly stained.
