tipptruck1 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 In a month i will be going on my yearly fishing trip. Well iam taking my cousin and my brother. My brother dosent want to go. I think he dosnet want to go is because he would rather play video games. I need so thing help on what lures to use so he wont get bored. Quote
grove83 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 If your fishing in the moring, try to throw some top water stuff. Nothing else will get someone "hooked" like seeing a bass hit a top water! Also I would try to throw some spinners. That way he will stay active. If those aren't working....I don't know what to tell you. But that is what I would start him out on. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 10, 2006 Super User Posted May 10, 2006 This is a tough one. If you want to get him hooked on fishing you might want to try fishing for crappie or bluegill with him before fishing for bass. These would be much easier to catch and the number of fish might get him hooked. Then turn him on to the joys of battling a big bass. Quote
alhuff Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 i was going to say get him hooked with a fishing video game but that may back fire on ya and cause him to want to play the game and not fish with you.....oh well. i would agree with senile1, start him out on panfish and work him up from there... the smaller inline spinners work well for panfish and bass, they may get him hooked. Good luck, Alfred Quote
Super User flechero Posted May 10, 2006 Super User Posted May 10, 2006 Tell him that a family outing trumps a video game, but he can bring his gameboy to play if the fishing is slow or he gets bored. That way he goes but if he doesn't have fun he can still play his games. If that doesn't work, punch him in the mouth and say "in a few years, you'll understand why I did that!" Second thought, you might omit the last step. ...lol Quote
worm Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Flechero, you just made me spit my Code Red on the monitor. Funny thing is, I have been on both ends of that "Brotherly Love" manuver. Worm Quote
goldenmonkey Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 not sure how things are where you are, but here the white perch absolutely tear up small white spinnerbaits along weed beds, like 1/4 ounce ones. beetlespins work well for them too. get him an ultralight rod and let him throw that little spinnerbait all day long.
