RLinNH Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Lookiong to subscribe to a Bass fishing Magazine, but I do not want one that is focused primarily into the Southern part of the U.S., as so many are. I would rather a magazine that has lots of how to articles and one that also keeps me up on the BASS and other Tours. Anyone have any recommendations? I already subscribe to "On the Water". A great local magazine, but for some reason, the Bass fishing bug has really bitten hard this year. Any recommendations would be great. Quote
paparock Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I just started these two that I highly recomend! http://www.basswest.com http://www.baits.com/gycb-index.html Quote
volpster31 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I USED TO SUBSCRIBE TO BASSMASTER BUT IVE LOST INTEREST IN THEIR MAG & THEY RAISED THE PRCE ANYWAY...IM THINKING ABOUT CHECKING OUT BASSIN'........A LITTLE TIP, IF YOU LOOK ON EBAY YOU CAN GET A SUBSCRIPTION FOR CHEEEEEEP TO A LOT OF DIFFERENT MAGS. Other. Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I have a subscription to ebassin. They have good How-to arcticles. They also have a tackle reviews. And yes sometimes they have a page or 2 for BASS. Also at the end of the magizine they give you great tips on fishing tackle Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 3, 2006 Super User Posted May 3, 2006 Bassin is by far the best. It is better than Bassmaster and Bass Times. I suggest getting a copy at Wal-Mart and considering Bassin. I read most of the articles and it has some great tips on the back pages. Quote
Curado Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I read Bassmaster and Bassin', both great magazines. Quote
Bassbum80 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I have to say since i found this site, I hardly pick up a magazine anymore. The only thing I miss reading is "A Day on the Lake" in Bassmaster. My brother has his Bassmasters archived since the early 90's and we only take out the issues relevant to the time of year it is when we are planning a trip. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 3, 2006 Super User Posted May 3, 2006 You hit the nail on the head, Bassbum. This site is the best place for bassin' information. I still like Bassmaster and Bassin'. I also read Missouri Game and Fish Magazine. If you go to www.gameandfishmagazine.com you can click on a state and get a magazine that focuses on your state. It doesn't always have great how to articles and much of the magazine concerns hunting, but I occasionally find a new place to fish in my home state by reading it on a monthly basis. Quote
uiubassmaster Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Bassmaster, had in-fisherman and NAFC (North american fishing club) but they cover too many different species, I liked them when I was younger, but now that I've found my true passion in life (bass!) there's only one magazine for me and that's bassmaster. I'm also planning on subscribing to Bassin magazine. Quote
Nick B Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I read Bassmasters, Bassin, NAFC, Field & Stream, and Outdoor life. They all have their pro and cons. Quote
Zebco202 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I've just got a subscription to Bassin'. After buying a few issues at wal-mart I figured I might as well go ahead and subscribe. It's only $9.99 a year. I like the magazine because of the tips and gear reviews. I don't really follow any of the tours and I'm really not interested in reading about it. I want a 'zine that will help me be a better fisherman and Bassin' has great "how to" and instructional type articles. I may subscribe to BassMaster someday but right now it just doesn't appeal to me very much. I don't like Field and Stream and alot of the other outdoor mags because they focus too much on either hunting or fishing for other types of fish. I'm primarly a bass or crappie fisherman. Speaking of Crappie. There is a special offer in Bassin' now where you can get four issues of Crappie for only a penny. I've never read croppie so I went ahead and sent in my penny. I figure it's worth a shot. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Bassin' is by far the best "how to " bassin' mag out there, and it's cheap to boot.I also like Bassmaster and FLW Outdoors. They both have some good "how to" articles(Bassmaster has the most),and they both cover the pro tours, which I like(some like NASCAR:I like Bassmaster and FLW Tours). If you're really hard up for a fishin' read In-Fisherman is not that bad. It's only drawback is it covers all game species ,and I'm only interested in bass. Don_B Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 For me: Pa Game & Fish, In Fisherman, Bassmaster, Muskyhunter, and Esox Angler. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 4, 2006 Super User Posted May 4, 2006 Inside Line is my favorite bass magazine, but I think In Fisherman is the best all around fishing resource. I also subscribe to Bassmaster, but I think it ranks a distant third. Quote
Guest avid Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 IMHO Bassin is clearly the best bass magazine. Quote
ScootZilla Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Well i started with Bassmaster and now read BM and Bassin. Scoot Quote
Tom Bass Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I read Bassin', Field and Stream and Outdoor Life. The last two aren't just for fishing but for hunting and just plain nostalgia. They do have a lot of good bass fishin' info though. Quote
BD Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 bass times and bassmaster. online.......EVERYTHING i can. Quote
cgs2004 Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I like Bassin' and Bassmaster Times personally. I like all the info in Bassin' and I like the layout of the Bassmaster Times and its coverage of a lot of the tournaments. I like how they really go into detail about how each tournament winner did what they did, and they go into details. Quote
