Rattletrap Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Where are you getting all of those Florida bass photos from? ;D Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted April 25, 2006 Author Super User Posted April 25, 2006 Texas Parks and WildLife Sharelunker program which ends in less than a week. It runs from oct-Apr, if they spawn in captivity, the fry of the off spring is released back into the original lake and the rest are used to spread that gene pool around other Tx lakes. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/visitorcenters/tffc/budsharelunker/ By going there, I saw #32 for the season has been posted and was caught yesterday. Maybe you would like to post that one for me rattletrap. how come you don't post reports from your state? Other than BASS and Gunterville. We may not own any records, but do have enough top bass lakes to compete with any state pound for pound, stringer to stringer wirh evidence to back it up, not one tournament. Quote
Captain Cali Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 WOW!! That first one has a huge gill plate. I'm curious again...why do some state the bait/lure used and some don't. Is it up to the angler to let that become public info? Quote

That would take up to much bandwidth. There have been several 14lb plus caught this year, but we don't want the press coverage. I have a hard enough time launching my boat as it. BTW, those are nice bass anyway. Try not to take my puns so personal. I'm not trying to be mean. Just joking. Quote

Is it up to the angler to let that become public info? Anglers don't have to tell anybody what lure they used. Some may be artificial lures and some are live baits. You may be suprised but most people that catch a big bass off of live bait won't admit it. I don't know why that is but it happens. Then you have some that don't want to release there secret weapon or lie about what they used. LOL They think nobody else is using that particular bait causing them to believe that they have the upper hand when it comes to bass fishing. LOL Quote
Guest bigtex Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 One more thing, Is it me or are those people holding the fish a pretty good distance away from water? Did they keep those bass or release them? It looks to me that they kept them. Quote

Did they keep those bass or release them? It looks to me that they kept them. they donate them to parks and wildlife. they pair them with pure florida strain males. that should make rattletrap happy. i have been lucky enough to live in 2 of the three best fishing states (florida and texas) but i doubt i will ever find my way to california...too expensive. Captain Cali Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 bigtex, thanks. That's what I thought but wasn't sure. Quote

jb_from_texas Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 mattfly has a link in an above post. it's a great program. Quote
Guest bigtex Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Mattfly---I didn't know that you could use private lakes for the Sharelunker program. Why is that? I thought it was for public lakes in Texas only. Quote
