I went to a nice sized pond today (shore fishing only).  There were Bass on beds everywhere.  I mean just about every 15 - 20 feet you could find a new bed with a male always on it, and once and a while a female.  The fish just wouldn't take anything I threw at them!  I threw senkos (red shad, white, wateermelon), t-rigged 4" Zoom lizards (chartreuse pumpkin).  All kinds of different t -rigged worms/lizards in various colors, t-rigged Yum Crawbugs (watermelon flake) jigs (black and blue, watermelon, all black)  Any suggestions?  This is only my first spring "really" fishing so i linda knew this would happen. :-[  Any help appreciated.

Live Minnows !  now they will take them away and drop them away from the nest and this is when you stick the hook. Your right ! they don't eat much but they are defensive against small fish.

Here in NE PA in a strippin pit/pond I fish a lot the males are already on the shallow side and you can see the first nests being fanned The big females are in the deep end and they keep driftin up to the top hoovering just inches beneath the surface then they drift back down or cruise about 25 yards and in parellel to the shore AN THEY AINT HITTIN ANYTHING :-/Talk about frustration

I was having the same problem at one of my local lakes and so I moved away from soft plastics.  I tied on a rapala original floater on my spinning rod and a husky jerk on my baitcaster.  I caught about 5 largemouth in the next 15 - 20 casts with the original floater.  I was just twitching it just under the surface.  When I threw the husky jerk, a small pike hit it on the first cast.
