basswagoner Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Now that I live in Kentucky I will have to say 6-7 pounder. Good fish for location. Quote
Brian_Reeves Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Going to try to break my 8lb curse. I can catch fish all day long 8lbs and below but if he gets any bigger than that, then the MOST STUPID things happen to me. Little things that the TV Shows warn you about. Check your knot, replace your hooks, make sure your reel is screwed together, respool your line, blah blah blah. I'm getting a 10pounder this year. I know how, where, when, and on what. All I have to do is just do it. Gonna try to pull it off during a tourny. I sure could use a few extra bucks. Hopefully I catch more than a 10 pounder though. I'm hoping to land a sponsership for my team the "Ain't Texans," and hopefully start working towards the FLW. Goals for this year: Win first team tourny Catch 10pounder 30lb stringer in a tourny Qualify for B.A.S.S. tournament around here and win it (That's a ticket to the Classic....YEAH BABY!!!) Brian -Ain't Texans- Quote
Madhouse27 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 My goal for 2006 is an 8lb 1oz smallmouth. I'll be crowned the new state of Maine smallmouth record holder and the sponsors will be beating down my door. Hoping to take him in around 25 feet of water dropshotting a Zoom fluke. I hope the 6lb Yo Zuri Ultra Soft line is up to the task Quote
buzzbaitfool12 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 going for 13lbs.....my pb set last year of 12.4..predict i will catch it on either double blade white persuader buzz or super spook in about 3-8 ft of water right before a huge thunderstorm front.........Have a 7.7 in the boat caught and released and looking for more..And by the way the only fish I would ever mount would be 22.5...I am all catch and release.. ;D Quote
Mikey40 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I would love to catch a 7lber but I think 5 is more realistic... my PB is 6 so I'd love to top that! Quote
Whopper Stopper Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Maybe I'm dumb, but what does PB mean? I know it has something to do with big bass so here goes. I started out this year wanting a 4LB. This weekend on saturday I caught and released one that weighed 4 3/4 LB. Then on sunday I caught a 5LB and four others that were 2 1/2 and up. Quote
Hywaytravlr Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Good day to all. You bet HH that I too, am going to catch that 8 lber.Last year 3- 7lbs. Have also done the 9 mark twice in the last 6 years ;D. Now for those that dont know, state record is a 10+. So I am getting there. Wish all of us in this frozen place(Iowa) good luck. Keep them tight. And BE SURE to kiss and tell. :-* Hyway : Quote
uiubassmaster Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I'm hoping to get a 7 pounder this summer. We go to a small quarry pond and catch 5 and 6 pounders all summer long, I'm hoping to break out of the slump this summer and get a 7 or better. Wish me luck! Quote
marlboroman Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 8+ lbs I caught several 7 to 7.5 last year so I need to break that 7 point Quote
Bass Hammer Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 For me 9 this year for a largemouth would be great. 5+ for a kentucky and 100+ for a yellowfin are my other goals. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Don't get me wrong,..I'm AIMING for 25+..... : But then there's always "reality" Quote
Master_Hunter_1977 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Well it looks like a good start right out of the blocks. I was hoping for a 4.5 lb largemouth. My first tourney out this year I ended up with one that tiped the scales at a hair over 5 lbs it was 5.03 to be percise. It also was the large bass for the tourney too. Now all I have left is that 6 lber for a smallie. Good luck to all Scott Quote
Lunkers0 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I am predicting my best this year will be 5 Lbs. I would like to break my personal best of 5Lb 7oz but I am predicting a tough year here in Minnesota. Quote
SBM-RL Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Ive already caught two 5 pounders in michigan! I only caught one five pounder all of last year so im gunna have to say 7 1/2 pounds is a realistic goal Quote
Hywaytravlr Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I'll say 8lbs.......thats a good one in Iowa 8-) HH I agree HH. I think it is doable. There are plenty of waters here to do that. Now,that I have opened my Big mouth. well just have to go and get it...Knock on wood. Hyway Quote
Zel Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Mannnnn, I could have nailed this one because I almost had a psychic girlfriend... but she left me before we met. Quote
rocknfish9001 Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 The begining of the year, i wouldve said 5 since im a michigan fisherman. Good thing i didnt, i already beat that. I know im crazy, Im gunning for that 7 pounder!! Hes in my waters, I know it. As for others, here it goes: Walleye- 12lbs Pike- 15lbs. smallie- 5 lbs. largie- 7lbs. catfish- 25lbs. (easily doable in the st.joe) salmonoid- 13lbs. musky- 25lbs. (going on a guided lake st. claire trip) All are big fish, but i know where it can be done. I have the will and know-how. Watch out. Super User flechero Posted April 12, 2006 Super User Posted April 12, 2006 **** March 31, 2006, Largemouth 8-9lbs AND 12-13lbs. **** Is that too specific? ...lol you said predictions... I think 3/31 will be a great day! My goal for the year is a 6lb Smallmouth! I have 2 home lakes both with lake records in the low 6lbs. I need a fiberglass replica in the den!! (the spot is already picked out) Well in the interest of full disclosure, we showed up on the 31st of march at our faithful honey hole and there was a chain across the boat ramp and a sign that said "no more fishing, lake closed" > :'( Someone bought the property and closed it to the public. What a way to spend a morning after a 2 1/2 hour drive, filled with anticipation. We went to another lake and caught tons of fish but nothing bigger than 4-5 lbs. So I am probably the first to fall in this thread. Do I win something for losing first? ;D Quote
HuntinTom Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Well - I'm going to think big - I'll say 8.5 before year's end... Quote
