Redtail Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I ordered my Cabelas guidegear and need to just get some kind of under armor - any suggestions? Thanks Russ - I feel like a kid waiting to go for the first time. I just realized, I should pick up a RI fishing License too huh? Quote
Super User flechero Posted March 17, 2006 Super User Posted March 17, 2006 **** March 31, 2006, Largemouth 8-9lbs AND 12-13lbs. **** Is that too specific? ...lol you said predictions... I think 3/31 will be a great day! My goal for the year is a 6lb Smallmouth! I have 2 home lakes both with lake records in the low 6lbs. I need a fiberglass replica in the den!! (the spot is already picked out) Quote
Valascus Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Heh...let's see...For largemouths I am gonna predict about 5 lbs. Anything over that would just be icing on the cake for me seeing as I can't recall ever catching anything close to 5 lbs. SMB...I would just like to catch one. Can't recall ever catching one of those. So whatever I catch will be my PB. ;D I guess it would be safe to say that I don't have a PB for either species...so it looks to be an up year for me. ;D Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted March 17, 2006 Super User Posted March 17, 2006 My dreams are to break the state record of 18.18. 19.25lbs for the state record, and 14.3 for Personal Best. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 17, 2006 Super User Posted March 17, 2006 A hawg in Eastern Missouri??? I will shoot for a 5 pounder. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 17, 2006 Super User Posted March 17, 2006 Smallmouth: 10 lbs., but I'm still dreaming about 12 lbs. Largemouth: 15 lbs. I have seen the bass at The Secret Pond and I'm fishing for that bass only when I'm there. Walley: 15 lbs. Brown Trout: 20 lbs Striper: 40 lbs Quote
basser89 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I'm hoping to up my PB LM from last year (5lb 9oz) and finally break into the 6lb+ club. But I won't complain if she's another in the 5lb range! If gas wouldn't go so freakin high (hahahahahahahaha), I'd be making a trip or two to Briery Creek as well and be shooting for a bigger one! Quote
Super User flechero Posted March 17, 2006 Super User Posted March 17, 2006 My dreams are to break the state record of 18.18. 19.25lbs for the state record, and 14.3 for Personal Best. Pretty lofty predictions... I hope I'm there to assist on the landing and take the photos for you!! Quote
GobbleDog Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I think last year my biggest fish was only about 5.5 lbs. If I had to guess, I'd say I'll probably get a 7 lber by the end of this year. I just hope I get it during an actual tourney and not during practice...... doh! Quote
Guest avid Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I will catch a bass 8 lbs or better in 06. I hope someone remembers this thread in December. It will be fun to see how we all did compared to our predictions. Quote
BASSMACHINE Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 According to my past logs my average in-state largemouth big bass is 6.5 pounds so thats my quess. I hope that I get over the 9lb in-state curse I have. I have boated five largemouth bass in-state that went over 8 pounds but I can't get over that hump. Smallmouth bass my yearly in-state big bass average is 4 pounds so there you go on that one. Spotted bass I am lucky to catch one a year in-state. Of course the out of state trips to Table Rock, Kentucky Lake, Reel Foot, Sam Rayburn, and Guntersville could bring anything. My dream big bass year, Largemouth 10+ pounds, Smallmouth 7+ pounds, Spotted bass 6+ pounds, this includes the out of state trips, so it is possible. Quote
BassBird Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Northern Indiana....5 pounder if i'm lucky Quote
Super User Raul Posted March 17, 2006 Super User Posted March 17, 2006 I predict that I will catch at least 1 10 pounder this year, already got a 7.72 pounder in the pocket. It 's the right time of the year to ketch me a big momma. Quote
directlink Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I'm gonna say beteen 9 and 11 pounds. There are some real monsters where I fish. Quote
basscat73 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 6lb largemouth in Wisconsin. I know where she's at and it will be my PB. Also, looking for a 6lb smallmouth, but a 5lber will suffice this year. Good luck everyone! This will be a fun thread to keep tabs on. I want to see pictures of all these fish!!! whoohoo! Quote
IneedAnewScreenName9886691 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Good Luck everyone! Mine is going to be HUGE in 06! Quote
Minuteman Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 5 Lb 5 Oz is the number I'm hunting here in PA. My son caught a 5lb 4oz last year and I realized I haven't caught a 5Lbr in about 20 years. In fact my largest last year was probably a Smallmouth about 4lbs. Last year was our first using a boat so I have no excuse now. He already caught one 5Lber this week and one close to 4 on the next cast. Quote
BiggerWorm Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 In the Midwest we just don't see the 10lb mark. Last year was my all time biggest bass at 7.52 lbs. To be honest I will be extactic if I beat it at 7.53 Quote
Deuceu72 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Largemouth = 9 lbs (Cedar Bluff, KS) Bronze = 5 lbs ( Pueblo Res, Co) Those are the goals and where they will be caught! Quote
Okeechobee_Cracker Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 6 or 7lb (Lake Okeechbee) 5 or 6lb (Lake Manatee) Quote
bassmasta7 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 8lber and a lot more 5's hopefully. Year is starting good. Quote
Neubie Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I'm going to say a 4 or 5lb out of the Thames River in London Ontario and mabe a 6 or 7lb out of Lake Nippising. Quote
crankin_king Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 7.5lb=largemouth-Chickamauga or guntersville 6lbs=smallie-norris Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I think I'll catch a 10+ bass this year because that's what I fish for,not numbers. The best I caught last year was a 7 on a spinnerbait, but lost two 10+ bass including one that looked bigger than my PB(12.2).I've already caught a 5 1/2 and a 7 so far this year.I fish very early in the morning and have found that the giant bass move up into the shallows early to feed before the sun comes up.I always use big baits because I want big Florida bass. Quote
Top Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 my goal is a 6 this next year but if I get my first 5 lber I will be VERY happy... I got a nice 4 this last year and I hope to best that... AL Quote
