Steven Ladner Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Hey, placing a order a tackle warehouse. I am wanting to get some new jigs, but can't decide on what brand. What jig from tw would you guys buy? Thanks. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I'd support the board by using the links http://www.bassresource.com/fish/advertisers.html That way BR is supported. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 30, 2008 Super User Posted December 30, 2008 I think TW carries Bobby's 3/8 oz Evolution Jig. Otherwise, I fish 1/2 oz GMAN jigs and Micro Munch Tackle jigs. 8-) Quote
Danny1991 Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I mostly use Strike King and Booyah jigs. Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 30, 2008 Super User Posted December 30, 2008 Terminator Pro Top Secret... :-X Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 30, 2008 Super User Posted December 30, 2008 Outcast R.T. and Pro Staff, Mann's Stone Jig, Stanley Finesse, Not sure if they carry Keitech, but my early experience is positive. Quote
Primus Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 J Francho I just got a few Kietech's recently, can't use until next year. I usually fix the trailer to the head of the bait, with a drop of super glue does the trailer stay on o.k.? I do like the compact tungsten heads, should get through the weeds a little better despite the Arkie shaped head. I would appreciate your early impressions of this jig. I also have a question for RoadWarrior on the Micro Munch grass jigs in the 3/8 & 1/2 oz sizes does this jig have a good trailer keeper on it? Thanks. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 30, 2008 Super User Posted December 30, 2008 Evolutions. I will start using them exculsively in 2009. They are beautiful jigs. Quote
Super User Catt Posted December 30, 2008 Super User Posted December 30, 2008 If you insist on limiting my selections Strike King Denny Brauer Premier Pro Jig or All Terrain Tackle Grassmaster Jig Quote
Steven Ladner Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 Thanks everyone. I have a couple of Evolution jigs and some Strike King Denny Brauer jigs on their way along with a few other things. Quote
BuzzBait25 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 You can't go wrong with the evo jig. i love the way the skirt sits forward and paired with a Netbait Paca Chunk it can be deadly. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted December 31, 2008 Super User Posted December 31, 2008 Do those of you using the Evolution jig spend all of your time fishing in swimming pools? Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 My favorite jig is a Booyah Baby Boo, but you cannot get them from TW. Other jigs I have done pretty well with are Eakins Jewel Jig, Keitech (they're expensive, but I kid you not when I say they work well) unfortunately I can't afford em at the time :'(. Terminator Jigs work pretty well too. Quote
WCCT Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Do those of you using the Evolution jig spend all of your time fishing in swimming pools? Do they hang up on every piece of wood on you too? Quote

amesl Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 The new design of the Evolution Evo2 jigs are awesome. The skid plate isn't as wide as the 1st series and they actually stand up much better. The finesse models are hit especially this time of year Quote

But what good is a stand-up jig if it can't get to the bottom without getting hung up? Quote

On top of the above mentioned my paca chunk seems to bring it down so it doesn't sit upright like it should i think i needed a bigger sized jig? Quote

Bobby Uhrig Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 What model of Evo were you saying was a half a skirt. The finesse models were designed with a thinner skirt material for a smaller profile. the heavy cover Evos have 45 strand skirts. When packaged the skirt is turned to one side so it doesn't get hung up in the clasp. Just adjust the skirt evenly around the color and it should be good to go. As for the hang ups>>??? I never seemed to have a problem with them. The new EVO2 Is a totally new creature. That Jig is the total package. Smaller profile- heavy duty flipping hook. Thicker weed guard- $2.00 cheaper per pack. Like I said I never had a problem with the Original Evo. I use them every time I go out. Here is a pic of the EVO2 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 31, 2008 Super User Posted December 31, 2008 I don't have the EVO2, but the Evolution jigs and jig heads I have don't hang anymore than other jigs I fish. I find them to be topnotch and I highly recommend them. 8-) Quote
