southern-tn-angler Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Mine was while I was deer hunting in ALA. Go figure. Was taking a lunch break at the cabin and went to the pond where my step-son was catching a few. I got mine around 12:30 pm. It is the one in photo to the left. Now, if I can only do that on the lake! Quote
VekolBass Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 LBH has a gift for statistical/trend analysis. I caught mine at 11am, for what it's worth. Quote
Minuteman Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Mine was late morning too. I think my sons was early afternoon. I never really thought about that before. I usually try to hit the water early and then have to leave by lunker time(apparently). I guess them guys launching when I'm coming off the water aren't just late sleepers after all. Very interesting, Indeed!! Quote
Topwater_Popper Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Around one o' clock in the afternoon. Quote
Guest avid Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 June 21st at exactly 12 noon. Midday of the longest day of the year (summer solstice). I'm not a follower of solunar tables etc, but I always found this to be very curious. Quote
Guest bassmaster79 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I don't remember the date but mine was between 8:00 am to 10:00 am. It weighed around 9lbs 6 oz. Quote
j-bass Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 My two (7+ & 8+) best were caught in the mid-evening around 5:00 - 6:30 as the sun is beggining to set (also consider that where I live is pretty hot, so fishing when it is sweltering and i'm sweating like a stuck pig outside isn't exactly my cup of tea) Quote
Sealand Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 My PB was last August during the full moon. It was about 1:00am, the water was dead calm and the sky was crystal clear. I was throwing a topwater popper. The Astro Tables rated that day a 90. Which is as high a rating as I have ever seen. I made a point to go out late when the moon was high. It paid off. She was just shy of 7lbs. and put up a memorable fight. Quote
Guest bigtex Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I would say I caught my PB around 3pm and 7pm. She weighed around 8lbs 5 oz. It was last year in April. Quote
FALCON Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I CAUGHT MY 6-15 SMALLIE ON 8-18-03 AT 7:45 A.M. IN FACT ALL MY 6LB. PLUS SMALLIES WERE CAUGHT BETWEEN 6:30 A.M. AND 8:30 A.M. MY PB LARGEMOUTH WAS SO LONG AGO THAT I DIDN'T HAVE A SCALE. IT WAS 21" LONG AND I DIDN'T GET THE GIRTH. I DO REMEMBER IT WAS CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. Quote
Zenmind Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Mine was caught at mid-afternoon at about 3:15 on June 17th 1998, A majority of my "Big Bites" have occured mid to late afternoon so I believe there is some validity to the argument. :-? Quote
