I sure would like to see an  *  by one of those later this year, with a footnote that say which member of this board caught it!!

Does the asterick denote juiced fishermen, I saw LBH grocery list for Fork, consider it a liquid lunch.

What I thought was interesting about the list is that 43 states have produced 10 lb+ bass. So, a lot of you guys in northern states have the potential of catching one, too! And how 'bout Canada? I didn't know largemouth bass got that big up north.

I see Michigan on there twice.I am suprised to MA at 14.

Thank you...CJBasswacker

Typo. #18 is Missouri, 13lbs., 14 oz., and has been corrected.

MI is #26, 11.94 lbs

Good thing I live in GA, so my state record will also be the world record.

If you live in Alaska you need to stock a lake with bass. Then, go catch one for the state record.

I can tell you NY has some big bass, the NYS DEC electroshocked my home lake in 2004 and recorded 4 10lb largemouth, and 2 7lb smallmouth, my personal best from this lake was a 7.5 lb LM

what happened to that fish in cali that was 22-1, isnt that the state record?

This has confused me also. The only thing I can think of is the 22-1 Bob Crupi caught was not certified.

Roadwarrior,

As an aside, Bob Crupi caught a 22.01 pound bass in Castaic Lake, California.

It was weighed on certified scales, but the species was never verified

by a Fish and Game biologist (yah right, like it might have been a drum). As a result,

California refused to acknowledge his fish whereas the IGFA lists it as 16-lb line-class record!

Here's what bugs me. The Florida-strain is the largest subspecies in the world.

Regardless, the Florida-strain has reached greater weights in "four" states,

than it ever reached in the state from whence it came. That just ain't right >:(

Thanks for clearing that up.

Iwas surprized to see Ohio 20th. Where Ohio maybe different than alot of states is that you will most likely NEVER see a state record fish come out of public waters. The next state or world record smallie may come from our part of Erie but other than that our biggest fish come from farm ponds. We have a ODNR that concentrates more on stocking fish that EAT bass fry than producing bass. I wish our bass fishing community would voice their opinion about this more than they do. The bass fisher men in this state out number muskie, walleye and steelhead fishermen probably 20 to 1, but, there is no stocking programs for bass and millions spent stocking other fish.

Of course it does... that would only demonstrate superior skills... if one could land a record on the sauce, he (or she) certainly could do it early in the am!! (although, some will claim that "calmed" nerves are helpful) ...lol

Didn't all of you opt for the "insulated" rod box in your boats?!?!?! ;D Standard coolers are too small even for water and gatorade!

It is interesting that kentucky has smaller large mouth bass than some of the other southern states but KY has the world record for the killer small mouth caught in Dale Hallow

Smallmouth Bass**

11 lbs., 15 ozs.

David L. Hayes

Leitchfield, KY

Dale Hollow Lake

Lets see then grow a small mouth like that in flordia or calif.  Boy, that had to be one great fight.

basswagoner,

You must be confused.  This is a bass fishing board and you have a picture of a whale in your avatar  :o  Just thought I'd clear that up for you.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Seriously, how big is that thing?  I suspect it would surpass the records of all but a few of the states listed.  If you are, in fact, a little person and that is a five pounder, no offense.

Ceph, thats the Paul Duclos bass from a few years back that supposedly weighed 24+ pounds........it was up for debate for a while but the fact that he weighed it on bathroom scales kinda nixed the world record talk.Plus he released it after taking a few pics and weighing it on the bath scales.A true HAWG nonetheless.

I might be mistaken here but I thought that it was caught on the TN side of dale hollow I know that ky does not reconize it as a state record. Leitchfield ky is not where dale hollow is at it is where david hayes lives.   Imo opinion  it was caught on the tennesee side of the lake so it rightfully belongs to TN dosen't matter to me if the both states share the lake or not

Check the kentucky fish and wildlife web site. IT IS considered the Kentucky state record all information I posted was from that web site. I simply cut and pasted it. It is now excepted as the Ky record and the rest of the world.

By the way Kentucky lake is also starting to produce some killer small mouth.

Thanks.  I have heard the story, but I don't think I've ever seen that pic.  I'VE BEEN DUPED! :)

US Record or World Record?  I know they fish in Japan, what is Japans biggest bass or the biggest bass in Europe.  Just because we have 22-1oz bass, does that make it the World Record or just the US Record?  Serious Question, Serious Answer Please.
