I'm Jim Campbell, a park ranger working for the Corps at Lake Ouachita, retiring next year, fishing around 120 times a year mostly on Ouachita, guided on the Arkansa River part time in the 90s, local tournament scene there until shut down by employer due to claims I had inside knowledge gained on the job. Background in wetlands/wildlife habitat management forestry which included fisheries. Now they offer a degree in fisheries, so I'm way behind in the field, sort of keeping up through the fisheries journals, but learned enough to improve fishing. I work with GIS/GPS on the job and do all the sonar interpretations, patrol the lake in a Boston Whaler occasionally. If you were to come camp around the lake I might be your night hosting ranger, taking your hard earned camp fees but passing on all the fishing info you want, then drive around securing the parks until 2 AM. Married, two grown daughters, one grand-daughter. Love to fish and when I can't....write about fishing and electronics.

WELCOME  8-) 8-) 8-)

It sounds like you have great knowledge of your lake area. I live in South East MO and would enjoy fishing there sometime. It sounds like I might be able to twist your arm to get you to show me around. Hope to see many posts from you.  Again --- WELCOME

Ouachitabassangler, welcome to the forum!!! You are not too far south of where I am here on Lake Bull Shoals. Hey I can date myself by saying I was attending college in Arkadelphia and to get away from campus I would drive up and watch the building of the dam to make Lake DeGray.

Got to love it when there's more experience joining.  Another cool thing would be to try to add up how many years of fishing experience there is between all of us.  I can only add 34!!
