Guest bigtex Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Does anybody have a clue as to what this creature is? I cut it out of a bass that I caught today. Any suggestions? Quote

Guest bigtex Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Can somebody please show me or tell me how to post more than one picture at a time instead of me having to reply to keep posting one picture at a time? I have the photobucket web site. I just don't know how to transfer from that site to this one. Quote

Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 27, 2006 Super User Posted February 27, 2006 It looks like it could be a snakehead. Here's a pic of one: What do ya think bigtex?? Quote
Jagrrich Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 To post multiple pictures in a single post like this one....... there is an icon 3rd from the left on the first row next to the globes and before the envelope . Press that button and you will get this " [img . Besure to make each side the same . Then you post the link to your picture between these tags. example http://www.bassresource.com/yabbfiles/Attachments/th_4columnchart015.jpg {/img]. Besure { this looks like this [ An easy way to get the direct link for any picture is to right click on the picture, go to properties, copy and paste the URL and insert that between the tags. I hope this helps! Another great way to learn how something is done is to quote someone that has done what you'd like to do and follow what that person has done. Sorry didn't mean to hijack or get off topic. Quote
Other. Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I have seen stuff like that on the discovery channel. its a cross bread of a leach worm and a eel (wonder how that happend) anways it attaches its self to fish and sucks its blood. very painfull it will some times attach itself to swimmers. just my thought. bassnleo Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 "cut it out of a bass I caught today" meaning it was attached to the bass or it came out of inside the bass? Baby snake of some sort? Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 27, 2006 Super User Posted February 27, 2006 Put it on ice and call your fisheries dept. in the morning. They might want to see it. Quote

It was cut out of a basses stomach. I caught 4 bass for super and this is what the biggest one had eaten. Quote
paulheelsc Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Its probably a type of leach. Leaches are great bait for bass fishing. I used to Take a couple cans of dog food to the river and tie them to a tree and throwem in. I would come back in four or five days, dump out the dog food and put the leaches in an aquarium. Givem some beef liver to suck on for a few weeks and they swell up huge. Anyway, bass lovem. From what I can tell that is what it is. Quote
carpfisher Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 It looks like some kind of freshwater eel. Really hard to tell with the small pictures. Quote

Are you thinking of a lamprey? :-/ I've heard of them but I don't really know what they look like. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 27, 2006 Super User Posted February 27, 2006 It looks a lot like a University of Tennessee cheerleader. Quote
davo3901 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I don't think it's a lamprey. They will attach themselves to the outside and have a round mouth with radial teeth all the way around. I don't know what that thing you have is. Quote

Carpfisher: Your the winner, it is a freshwater eel. There are a lot of them that are in private ponds around the area where I live. Bass love them. If you grab one it will bite you. Quote
