Love fishing flukes by zoom.  Anyone fish the Gulp version of this style bait. Seem great. But how bout action, durability, etc. Or should I just stick with flukes and megastrike. Or what other fluke style baits have you had luck with.

Ive had a lot of success with the Bass Assasins, but most of the time, Im with roadwarrior, i throw the original slug-go.

I've only fished the gulp jerk shads on jigheads in salt water so I'm not much help.  I've had my best luck with Fin-S-Fish.

I fish the original Slug-Go exclusively.

8-)

You da man!!  I have a tackle box full of those and when I take them out people are always surprised that I still use those.  I don't use them exclusively, but when they're on a fluke bite and it winds down, I'm able to scratch a few more out with the sluggy!  I use the YUM houdini shad when I 'fluke it up'.

I used to only fish the Bass Assassin Jerk Baits then I got some Zoom flukes because they are more readily availably, but this past year I discovered the Berkley Powerbait Realistix Jerk Shad. These baits are awesome. They are a little expensive but they are very realistic looking. They are now my favorite jerk bait. Bass Pro only has them listed under saltwater but *** has them.

I fished the Gulp Jerk Shad some last fall on a drop shot and did really well with it. The only problem is that they are soft and get thrown when the smallies get hooked and go nuts. This happens often with all the Gulp baits but I'm sure Berkley doesn't care because I always re-stock. I wish they'd come up with hard nosed Gulp products because in my neck of the woods they out fish most other baits on a drop shot and I'd save a ton of money.

I've tried several fluke style baits and IMO Zoom is the best.  I will fish the original slug-go it's ok and as some have said it has a smaller profile so when the fluke bite is winding down you may be able to sneak an extra fish or two.

Now I'm getting into pouring my own plastics.  The first plastics I poured were flukes.  I hope my own creation works as well as the Zoom flukes.

I love a Zoom Super Fluke. Been throwing them as long as they've been making "em. ;)

I really nice alternative is the Yum Houdini Shad. This bait has a flat tail designed to be modified.

Don't modify it. Rig it weightless, on a 4/0 EWG hook, and watch the wiggle as it falls. Great action, as long as you leave the tail as it is.

The Zoom flukes work best for me.  Thought the gulp jerk shads would be killer but they didn't perform up to my expectations.  They just don't have the action that the flukes do.

I'll stick with Zoom when it comes to soft jerk baits.  ;)
