piranha Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I know BPS is starting their spring fishing classic in the near future and was wondering what kinds of discounts to expect and on what equipment? I am planning to pick up two new rods and reels plus other odds and ends and was wondering if it is worth waiting or if I should just get them now? Is it all hype or is there really a lot on sale? Thanks. Quote
hipster_dufus Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 iam also waiting on this sale. i work down the street from bps.igo to this sale every year, it ushers ih my first fishing of the spring. u can expect some pretty good deals, they will have bins of baits lying around. it will be very crowded on the weekends. i picked up some rods after xmas and might return them if something better is on sale. u can sometimes get stuff for half price.this year my brother will be visiting that weekend, i know the bait monkey will get him! u might be able to pick up some bps combos at half off, wait. REPS THERE WITH GOOD PRICES ON THEIR PRODUCTS. AND IF YOU ARE THERE AT THE RIGHT TIME THEY GIVE OUT FREEBIES. Fishing Doug Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 For anyone who has visited the spring classic at their local BPS, did you notice any discount on St. Croix rods? The bait monkey is making buy another one. :-[ Quote
MrJS Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I went Saturday and found some good deals. Im a budget fisherman so I love cheap combos and I bought the Daiwa Procaster Tournament Combo for $50. Yo Zuri hybrid was going for 5.59 for a 275 yard spool. Frenzy Rattl'rs were 1.99. I needed a new spinning rod and was going to get the All Star rods that were $50, but by 1:00pm, almost all were gone. Quote
mindtrix Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Went to it today, lots of baits in bins... Didn't see any good deals on St. Croix rods. I bought a Viper combo, reel is the same as the BPS Pro Qualifier low profile, for $60. Bought a 7:1 BPS Extreme Baitcast reel for $50 (after I traded in a zebco 33 and used the coupon), awesome reel. I picked up an IM6 6'6 M casting rod for $20, nice rod for the price, even has fuji guides. Also grabbed a bunch of crank baits and jitter bugs. I Almost snagged a couple of the extreme rods, as they were onsale for $60. But I chickend out, wife was there . I could of been in real trouble if the wife wasn't there to curtail things... ;D Quote
JDPgator Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Saturday I stopped in to the Orlando store, as payback for a family day at disney with the wife's family, and I picked up a Shimano Stradic 2500FH/Extreme XPS Combo that is listed for $159.98 on sale for $129.98. Since I just recently purchased the same reel as a gift for my father at $119, I thought I got a pretty good deal. I also got a Tilley hat, no price deal here, at my wife's request, but I think it's because it reminds her of someone on TV. ;D Quote
lovecranking Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I thought St. Croix had a fixed price & didn't allow anyone to undersell. If anyone who has already been to their Classic, let us know if St. Croix rods are being discounted. Our Classic isn't until mid March. Quote
