Tenka Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Break the bait monkey out of the house, since the wife had him on LOCKDOWN! Then try to pay the bill before the wife saw it. And disappear for a weekend so she would not be yelling at me about money when i came back. But other than that, nothing special. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 18, 2006 Super User Posted February 18, 2006 Quote 5500 miles (Hawaii) ditto I fished for peacock bass on Oahu. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Fluke did you know they have LM on the big island? I had no idea there were peacocks there. Quote

Super User cart7t Posted February 18, 2006 Super User Posted February 18, 2006 The day my girlfriend (now my wife) was moving from one apartment to another, I left about 4 in the morning to fish a tournament. She was pizzed. ;D Quote
Aaron Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Back in october me and my fishing buddy were camping in Land Between the Lakes. We had planned on just doing some bank fishing becase we had good luck there before. No luck. So he drives about 45 minutes to his house to get his jon boat and brings it back to the campsite. We then had to switch hitches because i did not have one on my truck. I then backed his boat into Barkley lake on this beach, dirt (mud) and gravel. the water was down so much I had to back in till the front tires were covered in water. I didnt catch anything worth talking about. He got a small LM and a drum on a minnow fishing for crappie. But we had a good time and learned the layout of the lake a little better Quote
Will Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 In 2002, I went to the Junior Bassmaster National Championship in Deleware. It was a long drive from Kansas to Deleware, 1500 miles which was 2 days of driving. I ended up in 5th place, got some free stuff and had a great time. Quote
squid Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Told my buddies wife we were going camping way up north, just so we could go camping 30 minutes away and participate in a big tournament...lol We also drove 500 miles for a big tournament. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I also traded about $30,000 woth of hours working for hours fishing last year. UPS had a streak of offering days off so I essentially worked a 3 or 4 day week all year. I felt guilty at first but I realized that you only go around once and if I can fish more now and survive comfortably then why not? Quote
FlyRod Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Well, lemme see... I live in Texas, so of course I' ve fished here. I've also traveled so far as Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, Loozyanna, Panama, New Meh-hee-ko, Washington State, Korea, Old Meh-hee-ko, Germany, and Vietnam to fish. The best part? The taxpayers picked up the tab ;D, via the US Army 8-). Not to say there weren't some drawbacks...like trolling for some sort of tuna off Vung Ro in a high-speed patrol boat (Army) and having to spray an island with the boat's twin Fiddy Cal 'chineguns 'cause someone there took shots at us >....PETA Cong? Three long bursts and they became strangely silent :'(. FlyKillEmAllRod Quote
bassnleo Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I run miles and miles each day........all around inside my house trying to chase the bait monkey out ;D Quote
SneakySnook Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Fluke and LBH next time you want some peacocks and LMB just go to south Florida. The rivers down there are full of them. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 18, 2006 Super User Posted February 18, 2006 Quote Fluke did you know they have LM on the big island? I had no idea there were peacocks there. I hunted turkey on the Big Island but I didn't know they had LM. The lake that I caught Peacock in was the only lake that had them. It was in the middle of Oahu and there were signs everywhere that said don't eat the fish because the water was so contaminated. It is located in Wahiawa, the armpit of the Island. Quote
basspro48 Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Quote Fluke did you know they have LM on the big island? I had no idea there were peacocks there. The Hawaii state record smallmouth is 3-7 And I have also lied to the girlfriend and walked 13 miles with my buddy. Quote
DDbasser Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I've talked my wife into babysitting my partners kids so we could go fish a tournament. I'm sure there will be more times that I have to come up with something to cover my butt while I go fishing!!!!!!!!! Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 During the Summer, waking up at 3-4 AM ,at least 4 times a week to be on the water for the early bite. Quote
Triton_Mike Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 I have gone 15 miles off shore to fish Chandaleur islands in a 12 foot jon boat with a 25hp motor. LOL. That was in my stupider days. I also went fishing in the tail end of a hurricane in the Louisiana Saltmarsh. I launched my boat 3 miles from where the actual launch was due to massive flooding. Once I got out into the march there were 2 water spouts off in the distance. Caught over 200 trout and 40 + redfish on that trip. : T Mike Quote
