GobbleDog Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I've been serious bass fishing for 10+ years... I estimate that in my lifetime, I've probably caught about 8,000 bass or more. Out of those 8,000+ bass, the biggest one was ... just 8.5 lbs. :'( Shiners would probably help my chances of breaking double digits, but I'm just not a shiner fisherman. Hopefully someday my dream of catching a 10+ lber will come true. :-/ Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 3, 2006 Super User Posted January 3, 2006 <----- 10 lbs. 8 oz. Caught on March 25, 2005 at Lake Fork. Quote

Krazy_Fox Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 9.2 bass from Toledo Bend my home lake. Biggest fish i ever caught on a rod and reel, well i know you guys won't believe this but I caught a 23 pound catfish out of Toledo Bend on a tiny torpedo. Yea shocked me too, some kind of freakish accident I was in a small cove fishing the torpedo when the catfish hit and then just swam right up to the boat and into my friends waiting net, was not even much of a fight. that was a weird day for sure. Charles E. White Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 My bigges t bass was a 12 pound 14 ounce. The most I ever caught was 76 largemouth in 3 hours. I had been to that lake dozens of time, nothing ever happend like that before or since and I have fished for bass for 50 years. The funny part is I was teaching a friend to fish for bass that day. His first time fishing with lures LOL Quote

Hopefully someday my dream of catching a 10+ lber will come true. :-/ That 's a good example on how scarce Big Mommas can be, in my best year back in the early 90 's when I was younger and fresh out of Vet school and single and I had time to fish whenever I wanted and was able to visit Mexico 's big bass lakes regularily I caught 12 fish over 10 pounds, 3 of them including my personal best in the same trip. But those are cherished memories; now in a good year I 'm lucky if I catch a couple. Quote

Captain Cali Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 The biggest for me so far was a little over 5 pounds. It's the fish in my avatar. 2 of my goals for 2006 are to catch my first smallie and striper. Never fished for smallies and only twice for stripers. Those stripers crash the top like runaway trains!!
