Hula_King Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 My friend's birthday is coming up, and I'm looking for a book on bass fishing for him. I'm looking for something that's beyond the basic beginner level. I'd like it to have diagrams on rigging and using certain lures and techniques on locating bass. Anyway, what do you all recommend? I'd like it to really focus on the two things I mentioned. Is it possible to get all this indepth info in one book, or will a combination of several work? Thanks for your help ahead of time. Quote
Will Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I am not sure about books, but maybe a subscription to Bassmaster, FLW, or Bassin magazine. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 15, 2006 Super User Posted January 15, 2006 I read this book when I fisrt started getting more serious about bass fishing. It's a great read, entertaining, and most of all informative. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0929384113/worldcat-20/102-4883867-4604942?creative=327641&camp=14573&link_code=as1 Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted January 15, 2006 Super User Posted January 15, 2006 Check out in fisherman's website. Al Lindner wrote one of the best books on bass fishing. It should still be there for sale. Quote
Triton_Mike Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 Several pieces of literature I can reccomend. Best 2 magazines for advanced anglers by far are Inside LIne and Bass West Best books that I have read were Kevin Van Dam's book as well as Bill Siemantel's BIG BASS book. Both of those are great reads. T Mike Quote
wildcatbass Posted January 15, 2006 Posted January 15, 2006 I am not sure about books, but maybe a subscription to Bassmaster, FLW, or Bassin magazine. I look forward to every month that my Bassmaster comes in the mail! Pretty good tips/tricks/news in there. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 16, 2006 Super User Posted January 16, 2006 Maybe there are several books for advanced fishermen, but regardless of your level, In-Fisherman's "Largemouth" & "Smallmouth" books are a must read. They are the very best "bass" books I have ever read. Quote
5150basser Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I have also read "Largemouth Bass: An In-Fisherman Handbook of Strategies" There is a lot of begginer information in there, but lots of cool stuff. I have read a few chapters lots of times. I am getting the Smallmouth Bass book sometime this week. 5150basser Quote
