I can not believe the poor customer service I got when I made a call to In-Fisherman magazine about a subscription.  The only thing I received were rude answers or no answer at all.  I guess this is a common business practice, but they will not be getting my business.  Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this with In-Fisherman, and any suggestions on another fresh water fishing magazine would be welcome.

Replica,

If you're looking for a bass fishing mag try Bassin it's real good and the people at Bassin are nice and good to deal with.

I also receive FLW Outdoors magazine I like it but wish there were more articles on bass and less on saltwater, maybe some day they'll have 2 seperate mags!!!

I also like Bassmaster magazine!!!!

Good luck!!

I like In-Fisherman, but I haven't had the experience you just had. I wouldn't subscribe if that had happen to me.

Here is a suggestion: My favorite fishing magazine is Gary Yamamoto's Inside Line. Triton_Mike and JT both write for the magazine. Trust me, it is NOT an infomercial. The last issue featured an extensive interview with Rick Clunn. Every edition is packed with regional information, product reviews and personal interviews with the pros. Very little content is focused on GYCB baits.

Gary Yamamoto Inside line is a great magazine.  Unfortunaly it only comes out every other month.  Not only is it not an infomercial for GYCB products, but the pros and writers are very specific and candid about what does NOT work for them and why.  This is rare!

Bassin' is also excellent but again, it too does not come out every month.  Bassmaster is the ole' reliable standby.  It's not the best, but its good.

I'm surprised to hear that you got rude customer service at In Fisherman.  I thought they were classier than that.  Oh well, I don't buy it because it's too Northern oriented but I did a few times when I lived in NY and thought it was pretty good.

To heck with them Yankees and their ice-fishing walleye magazine.

;)

I just started getting In-Fisherman again last month. Us yankees have to fish for other species or we'd go insane during the frigid season. I haven't gotten to the point where I'm sitting on a bucket looking through a hole in the ice, YET!

I've been a Bassin Magazine subscriber since the mid 80's. Good magazine and no problems with customer service. I believe I still have every magazine sent to me.

I love Bassmaster magazine, its chunked full of bassy info, I know that I have improved my bass fishing more in 2 years than I have in my whole life just from reading Bassmaster magazine.

The only Mag I get anymore is Bassmaster, after 31 years of membership I think it's basically habit that keeps me renewing.  In-Fisherman used to be a great mag when the Lindners owned it, don't know about it now.  Bassin seems like a good mag.  Another good magazine is or was Fishin Facts, that publication may be out of business and it was like In-Fisherman, full of Walleye and Pike articles but the Bass articles they had were more informative than anything else out there.

Well being from New England, I only get The Yankee journal.  Us Yankee's up here have to be a bit harder I guess, dealing with the winter and the elements makes us tougher though so I'm proud to be a yankee and will continue reading the local yankee reports from the same old yankee fishermen.  Then as a true  yankee and in true yankee form, we will go to Texas and show ya'll how yankee ingenuity can outsmart redneck bass.

In short, if I need general fishing info, this site is my magazine.  If I need local, yankee info, I'll check with "the fisherman", a local yankee periodical, written by yankees and distributed by yankees.  Proud to be a hard core fishin' yankee.

P.S. red sox fan here. don't get confused.

LBH, I understand you perfectly.....but you need to throw in two "y'alls" and at least one reference each to grits, hush puppies and catfish if you want to be understood south of Joisey.....

heres what i do when i have trouble with a magazine subscription. usually they dont help to much on customer service... soo.. i go to the new customer choice on the automated questions on the phone and for some reason (I have no idea why.. ;) ;) ;) ) they seem to treat new customers better and never put them on hold). so when you get there then just tell them about your problem and if they try and transfer your call just hang up and go back to the new customer thing and usually after a couple tries you will get a nice person who will help you out.

In-Fisherman magazine was purchased a long time ago by a company called Primedia. Primedia owns at least 17 magazines that I am aware of. The days of the Lindner family calling all of the shots are long gone. It sounds like they took the customer service department with them.

As RoadWarrior stated previously, myself and Mike Bucca both write for Gary Yamamoto's Inside Line magazine. It is a great magazine that is full of information. One aspect that is great about Inside Line is that we can talk about whatever we want. The folks at GYCB know that although the Senko, Kreature and Ika can catch fish 99.9% of the time, there is still the .1% where a different bait will be the ticket. If one of the Pro Team members does well on a Zoom worm or a Norie's Bug from Kinami baits, we are free to talk about it.

Check out Gary Yamamoto's Inside Line magazine, not only will you get a lot of valuable information, but you also get to look at mine and Triton Mike's good looking faces. ;D http://www.insideline.net/
