BMoses Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 While watching the 2005 Elite 50 yesterday on Smith Lake , AL. I noticed that after catching a fish they would punch console buttons. I can guess, but never having fished a tournament, does anyone know what they are marking? I thought the coverage was good and it reinforced my respect for the pro anglers. Moses Quote
Cajun1977 Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 were they pushing buttons on console or gps unit cause console button was probably livewell and gps unit they were marking spots i suppose cause i didnt see it Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 I didn't see it but if it was on the dashboard console, it was probably aerators for the livewell, but those should be "on" anyway. If it was on a fishfinder or gps looking unit, he was probably marking "waypoints". This simply enters the gps coordinates, at the present time, into memory, essentially "marking" where each fish were caught. Helpful for noticing patterns and also to just plain document where you caught each one. Quote
BMoses Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 Funny you should mention livewell, Iaconelli thru a fish in and it "thunked", he looked kind of embarrased and turned on the pump real quick. Moses Quote
ernel Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 They were turning on the livewell pumps. They were also probably setting the timers for the livewells also. I watched that show yesterday as well. Quote
basspro48 Posted January 8, 2006 Posted January 8, 2006 They also might have been reporting the catch, like in the classic when they show where and when they caught their fish. I saw KVD press the same buttons every-time he caught a fish in the classic. Quote
