flippinmaster Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 What kind of lures should I use for cold water bass. Quote
Guest avid Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Wow, talk about a broad topic :exclamation I think the standard cold water bait is the jig an pig/plastic. Jerk baits also work well. slow rolling spinnerbaits work and dead sticking a worm or soft plastic can work wonders if you know where the bass are and can stand the boredom of it. Personally i moved to Florida so I wouldn't have to deal with that anymore 8-) PS. This is definitly shiner time. Quote
justtrying Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 dy-no-myte! (tied to a stick w/yo-zuri hybrid, of course!) Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Quote
Curado Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I agree with avid, try some jigs, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and also throw some plastics on a c-rig and drop shot rig. And I've had luck lately throwing a crankbait that dives 8-10 ft. and reeling it fairly slow. Quote
CJ Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Although I haven't had that much luck at it,other than what avid wrote, dropshot, tubes, and jigging spoons are suposed to work too.Are there any smallmouth where you will be fishing.Flat-sided or small crankbaits work for them. Quote
phisher_d Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 The home page of this website has a poll going on right now on this very topic (it's on the right side in a green box). At this point, the top five are: 1. Jig and Pig (29%) 2. Plastic Worm (20%) 3. Crankbait (11%) 4. Spinnerbait (10%) 5. Finesse Bait (7%) Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 my favorites jig/trailer jerkbait tube Quote
