BassinSoldier Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Well guys, I have learned that the bait monkey has no shame...My 3 year old daughter has reeled in a few bass I have hooked and now he has found her. We were at Wal Mart yesterday and she told me that she "MUST" have more of the green wormies. She was referring to the super fluke jr. that I was catchin them on at a local lake. So today I will take her to feed her monkey and we're gonna hit the lake. I guess there could be worse addictions for her to have growin up. LOL Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted December 19, 2005 Super User Posted December 19, 2005 Bait Monkey does not discriminate. Good on you for taking your daughter fishing. Look forward to hearing progress on both, the BaitMokey and your daughter. Quote
5150bass Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Like Matt_Fly said, it is awesome you take your daughter fishing. But now to the more serious issue.....You say the bait monkey has gotten to your daughter? It was bad enough that he has gotten to us. But now the children? No, I am sorry, he has taken this too far. Someone must capture that evil primate. 5150bass Quote

paparock Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy your time with your daughter it will definitely be a good thing as she grows older. It offers a common bond during those awkward teenage years that will come far sooner than we think. Watch that monkey. Quote
dabluz Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I recently bought a few used baitcasters. I babysit my 18 month old grand daughter every day while her parents work. Anyway, I put my new aquisitions on a 24 inch ice fishing rod and practice pitching into a cardboard box about 20 feet away from me. As you can imagine, the little girl was carefully watching me so I handed her the rod and showed her how to reel in the practice lure. She will be going fishing with me next summer. My daughter was also fishing when she was 2 years old. Quote
Tatakai Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I have been taking my son fishing and hunting since he was 3 also. He just turned 7 and loves to fish. His thing this summer was to catch a bass and he did. I think that the Bass fishing bug has bit him good. I also have taken him fly fishing, he likes to watch but not for long to boring for him at this age I guess. Glad to see more and more families out fishing and hunting also. Used to own a gunshop and my son got his first BB gun at 2 and loved to shoot at the target box in the shop. If you teach them young I don't think that you will have problems when they get older. As for the Bait Monkey he has us bad, going to BPS tomorrow I am sure of it. Have to get some things for Saturday when we are going fishing. Bait monkey has been on my shoulder all day reminding me of things I want to get. Tatakai Quote
Bass Hammer Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 My kids have the monkeys mini-me that follows them also. It is fun to watch them fill up their hand me down tackle boxes with baits they picked out. When they were babies I had a pacifier tied on a rod that I would pitch around and they would crawl after it. ;D ;D It's fun to see them fishing beside me now. Quote
