Hey,

I'm looking for a last minute christmas gift for my dad.  He loves to fish, especially for bass, but not nearly as much as myself.  Anybody got any suggestion for things that might make for some good christmas gifts.

Thanks

I would go with the Rapala Pro guide set. It has hemostats and long needle nose pleirs that have a thing on them that makes them great for opening split shot and split rings, also it has crimps on it for leader making. I also bought my dad the set that you wear around your neck with all it's little gadgets.

I tell you what I am rambling go to Rapala's home page and look there and you can get this stuff at walmart and trust me it will be a big hit. If nothing else no fisherman should be without the hemostats!

Oh and welcome.

Don't sell yourself short. Get something that you can use too. ;D

bingo!!!  I got my Pa a nice drill for Christmas a few years ago.... best gift i ever bought! Since then he's used it once - I've used it over a thousand times.

Some people would love to get a BPS gigt certificate.Instead of getting something you don't want or need. When it comes to getting fishing equipment,I'd much rather get what I want than dear ole Aunt Peg getting me some ghetto fishing junk.

I think one of those nice digital scales for accurately weighing the big boys would be a cool gift. Another idea might be one of the new style nets that are a little easier on the fish. Both would come in handy without exactly breaking the bank.

If this is actually Charlie Moore then we already know what his father is getting for Christmas. A wasabi/chartreuse Fleck Spinnerbait and a gift certificate to Aubochaun Hardware.

Buying gifts especially for a fisherman is quite difficult since most fishermen have specific desires. Buying a gift when you are a youngster is hard as money is definitely an issue. If he really enjoys fishing, a gift certificate to your local bait and tackle is quite appropriate. Then Dad can pick and choose what he wants and what he needs.

Wish I could say what I got Dad, but he surfs here once in a while so I can't spoil the surprise! Sorry Dad! :)  The tackle bag is a good idea!

Don't think Charlie is posting on here. From what I've seen, he's entertaining the folks over on Bassmaster (if that is definitely him).

I told my kids (adults) that I want lures.  when it comes to equipment like rods etc. I need to pick these out myself.  But quality lures are handed down from father to son and grandchild.  I want to create what I call "my legacy collection"

Gift certificates are the way to go, just make sure  it is to a store where he can use it.  All I asked for thgis year was BPS Gift Cer, I dont need more clothes and no one in my family does any fishing or hunting.  So they would nto have a clue of what to buy.

well i am 15 and if i was getting my dad something i would get him a spinning rod. those things are handy i got my dad one and he used it for bass fishing, croppie, blue gill, catfish, and for a trout rode they will do any thing for u or. u could get him a ultra lite rode and reel that is the most fun fishing i have ever had with me dad cause any thing u caught it feels like a 10 pounder. espically if u are bass fishing in the early summer caughting fish every cast. :)
