Bass Fishing Video Games

My Son (11) has requested a Bass Fishing Video Game for XBox for Xmas. So far, ive had a devil of a time finding one. Does anyone have one or know of one that I could research? Ya, Ya, ill probably play with it as well, Laughing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah a freind of mine has one for his and i think he found it at walmart. I would also try bass pro shops at either their store or their website at basspro.com. The biggest selection of fishing games i have seen are for pc's. Hope this helps and if all else fails buy him an 120 gallon aquarim and stock it with blue gill, crappie and a few bass! (I had a 40 gallon as a kid and I did it, man mom hated it when I would "test lures" in it!!! LOL true story)

I haven't seen one for Xbox or PS2 but they did have a little game that plugs into your TV. It was under $20 I think.

I don't know if it's any good or not. I'll let you know on DEC 26th.

Ah, posts about fishing video games. Winter must be upon us. Let me think. :-?

There has been much posted regarding bass video games. I personally own Rapala fishing on my daughter's (funny, I know) PS2 and like it pretty well, but it's hard at times and according to others there's better out there. I used to have Trophy Bass on computer and liked it plenty, until my old computer quit running it. I think there was one called Mark Davis pro fishing or something. You can probably just go to do a search for Bass fishing video games and find reviews on most of them. AND pmoravek, let me know if that thing's any good or not. Isn't it kind of like those little hand-held LCD ones that had the realistic reel and short rod (only this one has better video on your screen)?

They also have a little ten dollar hand-held one. I can't imagine that's gonna be any good so I opted for the larger one.

Hoo boy, been a while, but I used to play with this wierd setup with a "rod and reel" that was actually pretty cool.  Plugs right into the rca jacks on the tv, so no system is needed.  You actually have to set the hook and play a fish like you would in real fishing.  It was made by radica, don't know if it's still around.

Otherwise, everything I have is for the PC, including Trophy Bass and Championship Bass.

As for games for x-box and ps2, I don't own those, so I don't know if there are any, but I would assume there are.  Try doing a search at Best Buy or another electronics store.

Just got Mark Davis's Pro Bass Challenge for the PS2.  It's really fun!!!.  Esp. for $16 at Gander Mountain.  

 There are all kinds of lures: Jigs, Swim Baits, Hand Made Baits, Jerk Baits (floating and suspending) shallow & deep Diving Crank Baits, multiple soft plastics & more..  You get 2 different colors in each bait, natural & appealing.  You can swim jigs, pause jerk baits, bang crank baits off trees, stumps, rocks & gravel bottom.  The lures react and deflect.  Also, jerk baits and crank baits rattle, as well as the lipless crank baits.

 There are 2 lakes and a Dam reservoir and 2 different large areas on each location with sweet spots to fish: boatdocks, points, boat ramps, weeds, trees, eddys, all kinds of stuff.  The different species include Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted bass.   They hold in areas each species relates to in nature.  So, the game is pretty realistic.

 A tournament series is included w/ a points system.  You start with only a few lures and have to win new lures.  There are 4 levels at which you can compete: amatuer, semi-pro, pro and top pro.  You have to work your way up the ranks to try to top Mark Davis.

 I've been playing th crap out of this game all weekend.  It's keeping my bassin jones in check, barely.

 I'm not sure if they make this game for Xbox.  I saw the guys on BassTech playing a bass fishing game on an Xbox.  I have no idea what that game was.  Maybe you can drop them an email and get some info.

 If you can find Mark Davis's Pro Bass Challenge for Xbox get it.  It's worth it!!!!

The Bass Fishing Games that are made today just aren't as good as they used to be. I have played them all on PC, Super Nintendo, PS2, and xbox. The Top 3 most realistic fishing games i have found are 1) Jimmy's Houston's Bass Tournament USA for Super Nintendo(Came out back in the late 90's). 2)FLW Bass Tournament for PC. 3)Mark Davis The Fishing Master( Came out during the Mid 90's for Super Nintendo, very realistic just you can't save it, but takes the most strategy out of these three games. The bass fishing games today don't even compare to the games that were made back then, they try to make it too arcadish today, that's why i think they're not very good.

I agree.  I had a game for Super Nintendo, I think, that was awesome.  You had to work your way up from a Amateur ranks and then onto pro.  You also had to use your winnins to upgrade your equipment.  EVEYTHING!!!!  Rods, reels, boats, eletronics, baits, etc.

the ONE game I have been able to find on Xbox is Pro Fishing Challenge its pretty good...  only thing is you can play as a female or a male... and the female is ummm well endowed.. nothing obscene but suggestive... I don't know about an 11 year old boy having the game... none the less... I think its a REALLY good game...

SO I've started playing some of my old fishing games, and I gotta say, I like Trophy Bass ( from Sierra Sports) is probably the most realistic I've found.  The thing of it is, when you cast your bait or whatever, you don't go to an underwater view of the bait.  You're casting to shadows and movement in the water, but the only view you get is of the dude on the bow of the boat.  For me this makes it a bit more true to life.  At least, when I go out fishing for real, I don't see the bait under water like in most games...

im 11 so i know what game there is. theres "cabels outdoor adventures 06" at fingerhut.com. its 39.99. it also has hunting so that may or may not be for you. but the cover shows a largmouthbass. hope this helps!?

for all the game reviews. Cabelas outdoor adventures is only $30 at my wal mart, i think ill probably get it. Ill tell you how it is if i get it.

the fishing portion of cabelas is WEAK.. do NOT buy the game if you want it for fishing.. you basically fish to EAT.... its not realistic and it is a HUNTING game..

Rapala Pro Fishing for XBOX is the best one i have played. It is enjoyable for a while. Took about 4 days to win a golds. A good number of different lures. from Largemouth, pike, muskie, walleye, salmon, to peacock bass. Rent it if you see it out and try it.

I've played rapala on the PC and the underwater cam whenever you're retrieving the bait is so confusing.  Not only that but its hard to get the cranks to dive, no matter what I do..its basically a big ball of confusion for me after I cast.  Anyway, pretty much anything i throw wants to stay on top, but if I do get it down, it seems like it goes under the bottom of the lake.just all around weird and confusing to me.

I would give to the rapala game only 5/10 . The lures are limited to rapala's only and generally is not realistic.

As I said above try Trophy Bass 4 .You can choose underwater or normal camera.You have a huge collection of lures ,many species to fish for,many lakes etc. I even manage to get the new world record (I wish it was reality hahahahahaha)

The problem I have with most bass video games is the underwater camera. You shouldn't be able to see the bass like that. If it's clear water, then I can understand sight casting, but watching the bass swim behind your lure is wrong.

Game makers should save the memory used on the underwater camera and instead focus on better graphics, lures and overall realistic fishing.

That said, I went out and bought a used "Bass Strike" video game (I think that's what it's called) for my PS2 the other day. I still haven't even played it yet though.  I'll report back on how it is.

BTW - I heard Rapala wasn't very good.
