Dont make fun of me for asking, but ive got a question thats been bugging me. What in the world does a t-rig and worm resemble. With a hopping action, it looks like something aquatic, and catches lots of fish, but why? Now I can see how a dragging approach can resemble a struggling minnow, but how come when you hop it, you get so many strikes but it looks like nothing ive ever seen swimming in the water before.

Who Knows?I guess you could ask what does a spinnerbait resemble.Or a buzzbait.Maybe it's just the way it moves provokes an aggressive response. We are talking a fish. Not the brightest creature in God's body of work.

Because it looks like a feeding opportunity. It looks like something slow moving easy to catch. It could resemble a leach, worm or water snake.

i'll tell you what a t-rig resembles as soon as i figure out what the merthiolate trick worm that i'm using lately resembles ;D

Or the chartreuse Tiki Stick ;) ;D.

I'm not sute what it represents-I just know they work!

I don't think anyone here would make fun of you for asking a question.  That is how you learn.  And that is a good question to ask.

Who knows, but I don't think lures have to be imitative in order to generate strikes, as evidenced by the fact that every lure material, size, shape, color and action catches fish. The best anglers in the world, in my opinion, know HOW to catch fish, but they don't necessarily know WHY any more than you or me.

I think it looks like alot of things, taking into consideration of the cover, the structure, the depth, and light penatration.  Possible water dog, leech, eel, crawfish, small sucker with the tail up looks like the ribbon tail of the worm.

When bass fishing, I think of my cat.   Some days I have to wiggle the heck out of it to get my cat to play.  Other days it just pounces on it.  It depends on my cats mood, very similar to the bass' temperment.  I have an ultra-lite spinning rod with a shoe string tied on.  My cat will hit and start walking down the hallway.  Make that drag sing!!!!Best fishing done when not on the water, from the easy chair.     She doesn't count on my 10lb catch rate either.  LOL!!!!

Do you need a special license for terrestrial "Cat-fish"ing?   ;)

I think I'm leagal with the one I bought,  It said good for all species including Cat-fish.  They have a different attitude everyday we play this cat and string game, like a bass.  some days slight movement, somedays you gotta get it real close, other days she's in chase mode.

That's the same way I "practice" fishing too...except mine tends to be in the 15lb class, so I use a belly gimble to land him...lol

I don't think there is any thing as discusting as a helping of cooked okra on my plate. But when I am hungry I will eat that stuff. A bass dosen't care what that things is or what it looks like, but when he is hungry or in a bad mood and that thing is moving or setting on his plate, he will engulf it.
