Michael H Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 hey i am going up to bass pro in a week or two and i wanted to know of some good lures to pick up of all kinds spinner baits, cranks, soft plactics, ect. thanks Quote
The_Natural Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Spinnerbaits: Booyah and Red River spinnerbaits are good reasonabley priced baits with good hooks....war eagles are better. Crankbaits: Berkley frenzy's, Bomber model A's, bandit flat maxx, Rapala shad raps, and Norman cranks are good reasonabley priced, tight wiggle baits. Bomber fat free shads, bandits 100's and 200's, Storm original wiggle warts, and the Rapala DT series are good reasonabley priced, wide wobble baits. All Lucky Craft baits, zoom/wec balsa crankbaits, and bagley originals are nice but expensive. There aren't really any bad plastics. You can't go wrong with Zoom, Yum, Mizmo, Table Rock tackle, and Yamamoto baits which you can all purchase at bass pro. Good luck... Quote
basspro48 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 One specific bait I reccomend is the "new" Smithwick Rogue, the one KVD used to win the Classic. This bait is a fish catching machine. Other than that I suggest any ZOOM, YUM, or Yamamoto plastics. Anything Lucky Craft. Lee Sisson crankbaits, and any other wood cb's. Also some Rapala DT-4's and DT-6's, great baits. And I suggest picking up some of those Mustad lock weight hooks, the ones with the weight that you can move up and down the hook shank. Good luck spending... Quote

Bass Hammer Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 You get a bass pro shop to open near you and I promise you will know the monkey by his first name. Hammer Quote
Hula_King Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Go and pick up a Zara Spook if you don't have one already. This is my confidence bait. If I can't catch a few quality bass with a silver flitter shad Spook, then the fish just aren't bitin'. Quote
Fish4FunInFl Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I was just at BPS this morning ( Orlando, Fl ) Not sure which you are going to, but the Zoom Z-Nail in Junebug was on sale for $ 1.29. ( reg $ 3.79 ) so I picked up 8 more bags. ( And yup, it was only for Junebug ) I normaly will use those in the pond so I dont waste my Senkos lol. ( ive compaired the z-nail and senko in my pool and I do know the z-nail doesnt have near the action of a senko ) anyways got off subject for a bit. Also if you have a military I.D. card you will receive 10% discount. I believe I heard the cashier say if you was a fireman or policemen you would get the same discount. ( she had to ask about the military i.d. and thats what I believe I heard ) Again this was at the Orlando , Florida one, so maybe they will be honored at them all. Quote
