sleemie Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Are fishing videos helpful at all? If so, is there a particular one that's recommended...on DVD, of course. I looked on Amazon and there were VERY few they carried, and one of them happened to be with Chuck Woolery of all people. The ones I did find didn't have any or very few customer reviews....do people not buy bass fishing DVDS?? Quote
5150bass Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Hey Sleemie, I personaly feel that bass fishing DVD's are helpful, just like bass fishing articles. But I think watching the pros do somthing on DVD can sometimes be more helpful than if they wrote an article about the same thing. Mainly because you can watch them do things that they might not bother writing in the atricle (how they position the boat, how they cast, set the hook, play and land the fish ....etc). I haven't seen it yet but Mike Iaconelli's new DVD looks pretty good and has gotten some good reviews. Allthough I know a lot of people don't like him. 5150bass Quote
Rebbasser Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I'm looking real hard at getting these: http://classicpatterns.com/ Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 nice, that would definately help me get through thewinter. I plan on trying to do as much bookwork as possible. These days and times, that means videos, lol. Quote
Will Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Bass Pro has some good videos one is Kevin Vandams Strategies for Changing Conditions or something like that. I would do everything possible to find a vhs to watch the Glen Lau Bigmouth videos. Quote
New Bass Man Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I think they help. Like the other poster said, it's a lot better than an article. I learned a lot about worm fishing with the DVD "Wormin with Woo". I'm still picking up little tips. Bass Pro Shop has a slew of DVDs. Quote
Bass Hammer Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I think anything that you can learn from is worth while. BPS has a series you might try. Personally I take my fishing DVDs to the gym to watch when I'm riding the bike. Hammer Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted October 22, 2005 Super User Posted October 22, 2005 I have most of BPS DVDs they are pretty good if you look past all the product plugs. Quote
huskertko Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I definitely agree with 5150 on the videos being better than the articles. I bought KVD's book "Secrets of a Champion", read through it and thought I understood it, then I watched BPS's KVD video on spinnerbaits and it was just like a light getting turned on. All of a sudden I just got it. I have ready several postings here on this site about spinnerbait and crankbait colors but was still confused, but after watching some BPS videos I really feel much more confident in selecting colors, blade types and colors and sizes. Fish4FunInFl Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Woo's Clues is pretty good from BPS. Alot of nice tips in it. Quote
basser89 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 I just started picking up a couple of BPS DVD series. I have KVD's Proven spinnerbait techniques video and his Strategies for changing conditions. Both are Must Haves, IMO. Quote
