Mattlures Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 What do you guys think is the biggest bass caught any where in the world so far this year? And what was it caught on? I will give you a hint. I am pretty sure the same guy caught the second biggest bass this year also. Quote
Chris Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 This must be another Cali guy trying to catch a Florida transplant. I told you we should have never sold those darn fish! But NOOOOOO nobody would listen to me. >:(Thats why governor never got re- elected. anyhow... whatcha catch Quote
Mattlures Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Not me. I am just wondering if you guys know the biggest fish caught so far this year. It was caught out here in Cali by a very famous guy, but not by me. I wish I caught fish like he does. Quote
Mattlures Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Actualy when I seen ity was you who responded I was a little woried. i though you knew the answer. Quote
Upnorth Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Mike Long or Dickerson would be my guess. i have no idea how big it was. Quote
Nick_Barr Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 That Bob Crupi guy, or some 5 year old With a worm and a bobber fishing for bluegill LOL ;D Quote
Mattlures Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 It was caught by the greatest bass fisherman alive today. He caught the biggest bass in the world for 3 out of 5 years and won $25,000 for each of those fish while the world record bass club was still around. Since then he has caught the biggest fish of the year just about every year. He also has 2 bass in the top 20 of all time and both were caught on artificials Quote
The_Natural Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Do bass that are hand fed snicker bars, I mean trout, count ;D I wish they fattened up our oklahoma bass The California bass remind me of the people I see at wal-mart here in oklahoma that are so big they have to ride the 'mart-cart' to get around the isles ;D Quote
Guest avid Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I really want a guy like this to be the one who catches the next world record. Ray Scott believes it will be in Zimbabwe. I want it to be an American fisherman, cacthing the world record largemouth in American waters, on an artificial bait. I'm not sure which is more important to me. I would hate the record to move to another country, but I would also hate it if some guy(or, oh my God, woman) who was fishing with live bait for stripers or something would land it. whatcha think? Quote
Keepin_It_Reel Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 yup i dont want it to be caught on live bait ether Quote
Mattlures Posted October 16, 2005 Author Posted October 16, 2005 it would break my heart if someone lucked into the world record. I dont have a problem with live bait but i share the same opinion as Mike. I just want who ever catches it to have worked hard for it. Quote
ifishflorida Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Can't tell you how many fish I've seen hanging on a wall caught on a cricket, worm, or crappie minnow. Lots of people would be unhappy if that is how the next world record is caught. Quote
flyphisher # Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I think 18lbs is the largest caught in 2005..... I plan to catch the next world record at the 2007 Bassmaster Classic. ;D.. Quote
Guest avid Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 So enough with the suspense already. Who is he how much does it weigh, where did he catch it. and what did he catch it on. ??? Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 17, 2005 Super User Posted October 17, 2005 Most records would take a little luck or have been lucky. Our state record 18.18 was caught while crappie fishing. If I was throwing a crank and lake record flathead, yellow cat was landed, I wouldn't care how much luck was involved. I still caught it!!!and its still a record and nobody can take that away. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted October 17, 2005 Super User Posted October 17, 2005 Hey flyphisher, you better hope the BASS starts hitting Cali or Mexico if you want a record bass. Those two areas have the longest growing seasons in North america and South America. Can't say about Africa. I think 18lbs is the largest caught in 2005..... I plan to catch the next world record at the 2007 Bassmaster Classic. ;D.. Quote
Nick_Barr Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I think i got it. Mike Arujo or Mac Weakley Quote
Mattlures Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 It was Mike Long. I posted the links to the stories from another site but Glenn editted them out. Did I do something wrong? I have no afiliation to that other site, nor were my products used to catch the fish or mentioned in the story. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 18, 2005 BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 18, 2005 That other site doesn't want us linking to them. Quote
Mattlures Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 Ok I was just checking to make sure I didnt break any rules. Thanks for the explination. Mike Long caught a 19.2 off a swimbait (not one of mine) from Mission Veijo and he also caught a 17.2 from lake Jennings off a jig. They are both lake records. The guy is a freak. He has caught I think 5 over 15lbs this year. and that 17.2lber doesnt even make his top 5. I think it barley makes his top ten. He also has most of the lake records from San Diego Quote
