Will Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Sorry to hear about the news, but if you love fishing don't give up yet. About the gulp nightcrawlers you might try texas rigging and c-rigging them. I'll be sure to extend my prayers out to you and your family until you can get back on your feet. Quote
fishingrulz Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 thanky you i don't think you can c-rig them or t-rig them they are ment to be fished for panfish and stuff Quote
senko_77 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 send me your adress by pm, and a list of stuff they hit around you. i will gather some of the stuff im selling and send it to you. please ask for whatever. i need to give back to the forum in all ways for what everyone has done for me. dont feel bashful, and give me the whole list. hope everythnig works out for your family buddy. i'll keep you in my thoughts Quote
Guest avid Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 sekno 77 is a really generous young man. You can find allot of that around here. But don't let lack of money keep you from fishing. Remember George Perry who holds the world record largemouth bass was part owner of one rodnreel and one lure. He had to share with his friend. If you really love to fish you will find a way. Quote
Kendammit Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 you dont' need too much to catch some fish. You dont' need the most expensive lures, or the most expensive rods and reels. If your reel or reels are able to take in line, and can hold the size line you need for where you're fishing..then don't give up. Always find a way to catch a fish on something. Dig up worms, catch bluegill, and re-use them as livebait. Quote
fishingrulz Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 i know that guys i'm not saying i'm quitting are you crazy!? i would have to go through severe withdrawal to stop any type of fishing! i just think i might be fishing live bait and stuff for a little bit a couple months or so till we get back on our feet. Shad_Master Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 thanky you i don't think you can c-rig them or t-rig them they are ment to be fished for panfish and stuff Oh contrare, my young padowan (sp?) :-[ Berkley GULP! Night crawlers can be fished T-rig or C-rig. Last year I came in tied for 3rd in a tournament using only GULP! Nightcrawlers. You don't want to overpower them with your bullet weight though, use the least amount of weight that you can. BTW, just because the $$'s are low right now is no reason to quit fishing, even with all the lures in all the bait shops in the country, you can still hook lots of bass on the orignal night crawlers you dig up in the garden. Tight lines and keep casting. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 pay it forward Ryan-good man. Fishingrulz- never say never. Chin up, things will work out. Quote
Will Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Shad_Master, I think he is talking about the GULP! that come in jars and not the larger nightcralers we were thinking of. Quote
fishingrulz Posted October 7, 2005 Author Posted October 7, 2005 Will your right that is what i'm talking about everyone else i'm NOT quitting i just can't bass fish for a lil because i'm short on money. actualy its just that hooks cost to much money and i am gonna use the remaining lures i have (witch isn't much) and the GULP! nightcrawlers in a jar for warmouth crappie and bass primarily that should be ok fishing is fishing i don't have to be bassin to be in love with the sport i am also gonna use this time off from bassin to get my lil brother into fishing. you will see him on this board one day no doubt. i actually took a step back and relized instead of feeling sorry for my self i should use this time to get my lil brother into fishing so he can be my partner for life. i'll never forget the look on his face when he reeled up that redbreast all by himself how satisfying. i taught him and he learned. he set it and reeled by himself he was estatic it reminded me of myself ;D ;D. Bass Hammer Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Remember fishing is what helps us all deal with the tougher things that come along. Hang in there. Hammer Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 And that's not somthing to shake a stick at. Coming from a full-time working adult, this sport will come in very handy as you grow up. It's a sanity balancer, stress reliever, place to think and place to share time with best friends, fathers and little brothers. If tackle is the main issue, I have full faith that Ryan (senko77) will "hook" you up. If you he can't supply you with what you will be lacking, PM me. Quote
Kana Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 stay strong. all thats bad, dosent stay bad forever. glad to hear youre not quitting, but using the time to bond and teach your little brother, he will never forget it and when hes older i thnk hell appreciate it more than you can imagine! Quote
fishingrulz Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 LBH tackle is not the main issue i don't need you guy to give me tackle though it is very genorous. i was just saying that i might need to lay off buying stuff because we are on atight budget. don't get the wrong impression we are not on the "street" we just need to by the nesecities. thankyou all for your imput i will notify everyone when things turn up thankyou. fishingrulz Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 Og and i changed my very first comment that started the thread. i changed it because the origanl was a little exagerated it made it look worse than it is i'm sorry its just that i think i typed it because i was ticked off when i typed it because of what happened. we are on a tight budget. and like i said i took a step back and i kind of kicked myself because i was crying the poor me blues and now you all think its worse than it is. it is bad but i think the opening statment was a little exagerated. and like i said i am going to use this time to turn my lil brother into my second life long fishing partner so this way it can be a three way team me my older brother and my younger brother. we will be called really high budget hookers ;D ;D ;D ;D. bassackwards Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 sounds like a great idea man. and its big of you to think of someone else like your lil bro. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm quite selfish... it would have still weighed on me. perception is 100% of life. changes situations from good to bad, bad to good, and I believe it also changes the outcome of those situations. if I don't think I'm going to catch a fish, I won't. I will half-*** it and give up quick. if I think I am going to catch a fish... I try harder, longer and much more thorough. all about perception. great to be aware of at such a young age. Quote
3kings Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 this suck guys i don't think i can afforrd this sport for the time being this friggin DH at my dads work got him fired so i have to stop fishing for a bit i'm just on a tighter budget right now. i will fish with live bait and the remaining lures i have. whats the best way to rig a berkley GULP! nightcrawler for bass? thanks guys. i think you are still lucky. here in my side of the world (philippines) a day's fishing trip may cost you almost a month's wage. much as i want to go weekly, the cost surely deprives me of that enjoyment so i rely on this forum, just close my eyes and imagine catching them lunkers with you guys. Quote
fishingrulz Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 yea your right i know i aint gettin into any lunkers my PB is 2 pounds lol Quote
