Hey all

I thought it would be interesting to do a little survey and see how much time per week everybody is out fishing.

I'm sure we all fish as much as we can.

Might be interesting to see how everybody fits it into their schedual.

For me I usually fish 3 to 4 times during the week.

Luckily I have a 35 acre lake that was built in the late 40's at one of my projects. We either hit from the bank or if I have a little more time we have a jon boat.

I almost always get my boat out 1 day every weekend or jump in a buddies.

I do slow down a bit in the winter.

Thanks

I can usually get out for at least 6 days a week, and most of the time I am fishing off the bank. During the weekdays I usually fish for 3 hours, and then on the weekends usually 4 apiece. Come winter and I might fish once a week.

Not enough. I have about 6 ponds that I have gotten permision to fish. I dont want to fish those too often so I dont upset the owner. (Have had a bad expiereance) My uncle usually takes me up to Presque once or twice a year. Thats always a lot of fun.

Usually 3-5 days a week.

We're a fishing family...the wife and 3 kids (ages 8, 6, and soon to be 4) all like to fish.  Generally we'll go from about 6-7:30pm or so during the week and then off and on over the weekend.

The lake I mostly fish is 95 miles. I go every other weekend. Usually fish friday evening when I get there and depending on conditions, friday night. Fish from before sunrise on Sat and Sunday til about 1 PM. On staturday go back to parents house, (they live just a couple of miles from ramp) eat, work on what they have saved for me to fix and go back around 4 PM and fish till dark or on into the night. Head back home sunday afternoon.  I do this year round, Spring, summer, fall and winter.

At today's gas prices and between the truck and boat, I burn about 60 gallons each trip, the wifes starting to question my going every other weekend. I said it's either go fishing or go look for another wife.

I have thought about taking my 16' Fisher (tin can) with the 50 and leaving the bass boat with the monster motor. I also have an 17 ft Stratos with a 115 merc I leave up there we use some but when my granddaughter goes, it's a little small for three to fish. Keeps on I might start thinking about taking the 14' jon with a 25.

NOT ENOUGH!!!!, That's for sure.  School really influences how much I fish.  I try to load my fall semester up with tougher classes because I know in the Spring I start getting the Cabin Fever and I am out there any chance I get.

Summer- 2 to 4 times a week

Fall Semester of school (Aug - Dec) - Once a week maybe :-[

Spring Semester- Jan-Feb - 0 ...... way too cold for me

Spring Semester - March to May- Try to keep me off the water during the spawn ;D ......... at least 6 times a week. I love sight fishing!!!!!

Not nearly enough!!!!!

I work 10 to 12 hrs a day second shift so fishing during the week is pretty much out, although i do sneak out some in the spring for a couple hours one maybe 2 days a week.

But the weekends thats a different story !!!!!!

I usually fish as many hours as I can starting Friday evening until late Sunday afternoon.

This weekend I spent a total of 20 hrs on the water.

My buddies and I usually got out about 5 or 6 days a week.  In the summer I work 9-5, home about 5:30, on the water by 6:00, home around dark, dinner, sleep, repeat.

I go fishing every day for at least 7  hours per day, every day ,sometimes less if the fish arent biting. How can I get away with this? Im a Disabled Veteran rated 100% So all I have is Time. I talked to my shrink and asked him if there was any harm in doing this,he said he'd rather see me fishing or doing something outdoors constructively than at home on the couch eating chips and watching TV. So he equates it to a kind of "Therapy" for me because I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder and a bad heart. Keeps me from worrying about little trivial things and lets me just be in my own world.

Barring this year, in the past 7 years, I averaged 200 days on the water.  This year, however, I have only been fishing about 50 times.

In the 4 year prior to that, it would be between 50-100 times/year.

At the end of this year, I should have around 75-80 trips on the water.

A family that plays together, stays together.  Good on you.

I fish every weekend from January till June.  Then I have the honey-do list so don't get in as much time till September, then it's every weekend after that.  I'm very fortunate that my wife supports my fishing and will go with me if I don't have someone to go
