Smalliehunter48 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I was just wondering if someone knew what temps topwater is effective at. I am fishing a bass tourney this Sunday and the surface temps are around 60 degrees. Should I lay low with drop shots and c-rigs, finesse, etc. or even bother with topwaters? Any help is appreciated....NEED HELP IN INDIANA!!! Quote
Smalliehunter48 Posted October 6, 2005 Author Posted October 6, 2005 Palastine Lake...up by Warsaw....three weeks ago the surface temps were around 78 and then a cold front came thru with a lot of rain and it shot down to 61.... Quote
Will Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 You migh be able to get some topwater bites, I wouldn't stick with the bait real long if they aren't hitting them though. Also go slow with the topwater. Quote
Super User Marty Posted October 6, 2005 Super User Posted October 6, 2005 A lot of people say that the magic temp for topwater is 55. I wouldn't rule it out and would definitely give it a try if conditions are otherwise favorable for topwater. One never knows until he tries. Quote
