NoExcuses Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Hi there -- I'm another gal that has embraced the sport of bass fishing and have been having a blast fishing club level tourney's with my husband. This forum has a wealth of awesome information. Quote
DDbasser Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Welcome aboard. The wife and I just started bass fishing this summer, we're going to join the His and Her bass club this winter and fish their tourny's next year. My wife says bass fishing is ok but she prefers to crappie fish, er I mean crappie catch. She doesn't have much patient when they aren't biting. Good luck!!!! Quote

NoExcuses Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 Thank you for the nice welcome to the forum. To answer a couple of questions: The fishing in the great NW has been good to us this summer, the smallies have treated us real well! I caught my PB at our June tourney in West. WA -- a nice 4.1lb and had a 2-day total of 9 fish for 18.2lbs -- took 2nd place! My husband took 1st with 25+lbs his best smallie that tourney was a 5.2lb (there were 29 competitors) It was a kick -- those smallies put up an awesome fight. Eastern WA has been good as well, if you can stand the 100+ temps, my husband & daughter brought home 4th place (and a nice check) from a NW Bass tourney with 66 teams! (his partner bailed at the last minute--2 lines are better than 1 so our daughter got a crash course on drop shotting & went with him). My husband is not on the forum yet, but we discuss things I've read and strategies that may work for our upcoming events. He loves the fact that I have embraced this sport, especially since there's never a disagreement in our house about upgrading our gear, boat, truck, camper, etc . . . makes for a good time but don't you guys worry--he gets plenty of time to fish with the guys just for fun and at the more competitive tourney's. (Secretly--it would be a blast to beat him out of a 1st place trophy, hopefully the information here will help me to accomplish that at some point.) NoExcuses Quote
