gajpb Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I am planning on a little night fishing, but I won't be able to pull off an eight hour jaunt. So it's either fish from sundown (I'm in middle georgia by the way) until one in the morning or wake up and fish from about four in the morning until nine a.m. . Which times do you think would offer the best chance of success? Thanks for the help. Quote
albiechaser Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 im in nc, and its still hot as he** in the late afternoon. i would go in the morning, set up in a nice area with some deep water near by, and wait for the bite. dont make alot of noise, fishing during that time is awesome. good luck steve Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted July 25, 2005 Super User Posted July 25, 2005 I made my first night trip lastweek and I did a little research myself. You can look through the post in this section. There were actually a couple different post. I also posted my results from both nights in the Outing section. Anyways, I read that bass have a lot better sight than us at night, but their eyes take a lot longer to adjust. The articles also estimated that in the months of July and August, 90% of a bass's activity for the day will be between 12:00 am - 5:00am. I found both times I went that fishing was excellent between 1:00am and 2:00 am, then turmed off for a while, and then again at 4:00 am until sun up. Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 26, 2005 Super User Posted July 26, 2005 My fishing guide and bass pro buddy goes out at night starting around 7 PM and he fishes until around sunup, if possible. He uses topwaters such as the Pop-R and buzz baits. He does really good. Quote
Bullitt34 Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 I've fished sinclair at night many times but each time I was white perch fishing. Some nights we will go shoot docks and some nights we go anchor down at Goat island and put the lights out. We usually fish from sundown to about 4 AM. Quote
